In 1998 at the Buckeye Show in Columbus, I purchased this contemporary "sulfide" in amber glass. It is only 1/2" in diameter, the smallest I have seen. The front has a person's face or mask while the reverse says "Carol Ann." Has anyone seen one similar, or does anyone have any information about this marble or who might have made it? Thanks.

I have two 9/16" Ray Laubs sulphides with airplanes in them. One was a gift from Mike M. who is a member here.

I have never seen the airplane before, but that is a great lead. Now, I hate to ask this, but is Ray still with us? I lost contact in the last ten years, and so many of my marbles buddies have left us (and are leaving us). It saddens me greatly. I hate to ask...

Steve, like they said, could very well be Rays sulphides because they look real sililiar to the ones i have but mine are bigger. I have two and one is the crucifix cross and the other is a commemorative suplhide that Ray done for Guy Gregg when he was still with us which has his initials in it G.G. Ray has done some fantastic works of art. Chuck G--

Sorry not mine, looks like Carol Ann might be the artist, just a guess. I have made some real tiny sulphides as small as 3/8 with a sail boat. There was a set I made under 1/2 inch that included: a truck, car, boat, airplane and person.
