Are these Ruby Slippers?

I can't distinguish the white ribbons from the crescent-scan-highlights well enough to say.  Are the ribbons thin or thick?

(They could also be Vacor / Mega Roosters.  Just can't see details well enough)

In some years swirl ribbons can be strong and run deep.  In other years, they be seem weaker and maybe more on the surface of the marble.

Some Roosters can be mistaken for slags.  Some look more like they have paint on the surface, with a texture to the white which looks distinctly foreign.

That's just one example.  And of course it would be more helpful with photos!  Maybe someone can come up with better examples ... and pix.

I can see the color being slightly  different from batch to batch but why would the construction change?

Some of it has to do with the age and condition of the tank and the nozzles, for lack of a better term.  It can affect the depth and / or thickness of the ribbons, for example, or whether a patch is just on the surface or extends a little into the marble.  Tanks, basically made of fire brick, wear out / wear down every few years and need to be rebuilt or replaced.  The funnels through which a secondary glass is introduced into the tank (near the "drain hole" through which the molten glass stream will exit the tank) can vary somewhat in size through age, use, and replacement as well.

The chunks of furnace brick or sand-like debris in some marbles?  That's the tank deteriorating --
