Help me with Oxblood....

Recommended Posts

I now know "translucent" is not Oxblood... so what about this?  I took a light to this and while there does seem to be a thread of translucency in that "droplet" in the upper right, the flatter areas appear to be opaque. I am just trying to enjoy some of the details of some of my marbles. But kinda hurts my brain. LOL.

I think the translucency in the droplet is because it's a U-shape that has been squished together, just not completely, so there's a tiny little streak of non-ox in the middle of it. That's what it looks like to me, anyway? It sure looks like ox to me. But I'm still a newbie and don't even trust my own IDs yet, LOL.

Very pretty marble.

It looks more just rust brown to me, oxblood is a bit redder in color. Compare this one to the marbles in the oxblood posts.

CAC did not use oxblood and I believe that is what your marble is. The loop you see may be a tight "turkey head".

thanks

No. A regular "flashlight" tho.

Wow! I totally thought that was under blacklight when I commented. I haven't seen a color like that yet, it looked like it was glowing to me. Heck even knowing it's not blacklit, it STILL looks like it's glowing, lol. What a strange color, it's messing with my head a bit now...
