  3. Thank you! Another of my best. Unfortunately it has a fracture but it doesn't in these pics. I don't know when or how it happened. Just appeared one day.

  5. Our friend left this morning. It was actually pretty cool. He makes his cats step outside their comfort zone in a way I wouldn't do to my cats but all of our cats benefited from it. Within two days his two and our two new ones were spending a lot of time in the same areas. Not exactly friends but good socialization. Our touchy basement cat even got some interaction. The kittens explored the basement more. Back when Bear was in a tent to keep her separate because she was taking a long time to recover from being spayed (did I mention that?), the big cat Bibi got aggressive through her threw the mesh tent walls and their was a pooping accident because Bear was so scared and couldn't escape. But now that Bear is out of the tent, she's able to run away, and so though there is still some aggression it doesn't bother me. It's good exercise for Bibi. Bibi needs the exercise. She gained six pounds last year though she hardly eats anything. Bear and Punkin get along okay. She batted him once or twice early on. And he's still very tiny. He's even lost a couple of ounces from his max, which I'm paying close attention to. He's 2 lb 9 oz, down from 2 lb 11 oz. But the vet office said it might just be from how incredibly active he is. He runs everywhere on his mighty hind legs and his floppy little front legs. "" The kittens are almost 5 months and Bear weighs 5 pounds. Uhhhh ... I'm rambling. I should edit. But I won't. Sooooo ... basically things are good.

  8. With most Jabo marbles that have the uv glow is because they were made with Fenton Art glass cullet. Fenton was nearby just south across the Ohio river from Jabo. Fenton made their own glass for over 100 years. They made different glass that had the uv glow. Jabo bought Fenton cullet since they began business until Fenton closed for good. Not every Jabo that glows will be from Fenton, but most will be. I worked at Fenton Art glass back in 1971.

  9. Old and new marbles can glow under uv light. You can get different colors of uv glow depending on what is making the glow. Sometimes the marble makers or companies did this on purpose or planned and more times it was not planned. If the scrap or cullet glass used in making the marbles glowed, then the marbles will glow.

  10. Is that one UV. reactive or is the light just reflecting off the base color giving the illusion of a slight UV. reaction ?? Glowing is when exposed to regular light it "remains glowing" after the light is removed, UV. reactive means it appears to glow only when exposed to UV. A sticking point I know but there are newer marbles that "glow" and some that are UV light reactive. Sorry, no ideas on I.D. on this one ?? Here are a few pics of a good reaction to UV. Regular daylight bulb Same marbles under a blacklight tube A UV. reactive based glass marble will generally light up like the sun when exposed, appearing to almost be putting off it's own light. The same mib in hand

  12. Yes !! Have seen green bricks w/ just a tint of green, transparent green base or opaque green, Here's a sale of a partially tramsparent Killer from a recent Ebay sale, Note the "cut line". I believe yours to still be MF Brad, maybe someone will chime in for a bit more info on this subject ?? Another highly transparent one sold by Zaboo a couple years ago, demonstrating the highly variable bases in green bricks, evidently just a little tint is enough to call it a green brick. Another older transparent base brick sale from Ebay Though a "cutline" is present I believe they're still considered to be made by MF, weather white, green, black, or just a regular ox brick (excluding Akro)

  14. And these. Not fishing. The glass one is blown with an applied top. Swedish, I think. I think it's wine but not sure. The translations I have are from the internet and do not agree. thanks Bruce

  17. Bibi vs. punkin = Godzilla vs the ant !! I was watching punkin play, or was he watching me ?? It doesn't look like much get's past him, he's pretty crafty. His little mind seems to be just a hummin, he watches everything like a hawk !! I couldn't help it, I found it so had to post it !! Well, I guess I didn't "Have to" "Now I know an ant can" move a rubber tree plant !!

  18. If I ever get around to it I'm gonna try and build a couple wall mount shadow box displays like that. I have the shadowboxes just have to replace the backing. easier said than done I guess, they where a lot better constructed than I first thought. But I'll get er done (someday ??)

  21. Decorah, Iowa; where we got it, is known for its somewhat wealthy families and Norwegian heritage. The lady we purchased it from runs an antique store out of her home, apparently alot of it is hers from her lifelong travels. Heck, this city even hosts the Norwegian Royal family once a year! The Vesterheim Museum there tells the story. 😊
