  1. Thought I would join in vhtf akro #15 box with original metal tray

  2. Just taking a nap here. I couldn’t help it, this marble just looked like an eye closed to me, and so I played around and flipped it. I do not know which set of images was better so I posted both sets. Blue Oxbloods are real sleepers. They usually need to be lit-up with some form of artificial light to really be revealed. This is my best shot of one yet. This one revealed itself better than most do. Marble—On!!

  8. "Happy Peltier Tuesday" At under the half inch Pee-Wee mark. A couple marbles I thought I'd never own. Two Peltier Wolverines & a Pee Wee Christmas tree. I was gifted this one as well as another along w/ a Pelt Pee-Wee transparent Christmas tree from 2 different "Marble Friends" I couldn't believe it. Both types were supposedly "Lunchbox" marbles and not production. I am grateful as well as humbled by my "Marble Friends" some beautiful marbles that will never be sold and are among my most valued possessions. The first Wolverine I got, in the box it came in the mail in. Both Wolverines are duplicates of each other & spotless wet mint. I can't tell them apparat ?? So a measurement and a pic w/ their namesake. I know I've posted all these before but this probably isn't the last time either. Both Wolverines along w/ the Christmas Tree. I have never met either of my "Marble Friends" and probably never will !! Never the less I treasure their Friendships immensely. Not because of the marbles, their just pieces of glass, but because even though we've never met they thought enough of me to call me their "Friend"

  9. MK Monday 🤹‍♂️

  10. "Happy Monday" Colors plus the streak of oxblood make this a Kato. I've never seen one in hand, only in pictures, but certainly a unique example with some classic MK colors thrown in. Looks like an old-school patch & ribbon style to "me" also ?? A you can see there have been many years of dispute over the actual base & or ribbon colors, oxblood content etc... Thanks & appreciation given to our Brothers & Sisters @ AAM for the pic. 16. 100% repro, Cotes MASTER LOAF was on an opaque white based PPP patch, there may be others on different base colors out there but I haven't seen them. The real comics and ad marbles are graphite stamped directly onto the glass w/ a thin coat of clear over it, you will be unable to scrape it off w/ your thumbnail unlike the repros which are cheap screen-prints that can be scraped off w/ a little effort. The repros are generally on the wrong sized mibs & the pic is always a little off (the SKEEZIX is exact though), many near or over 3/4" mark. I have yet to see a repro on a PPP but I can see the day coming especially since the Cotes & Tom Mix are so high dollar. I see the repros online all the time, they sell them in full sets as well with several that were never on Pelt mibs like "Mutt" &"Popeye" etc.... I think there's one Tom Mix on Ebay and Old nurse (Kathy Klatte) had a Cotes on consignment for a while, I believe it sold because I just looked & it's not there anymore. If it's not a PPP it's not a Pelt. comic or one of the 2 ad marbles. (Cotes & Tom Mix were ad marbles, the others were from popular Syndicate comic Characters of the day)Yes" I know some thief will be printing them on PPP's someday but I haven't seen one "yet" Just a side note, the set I have looks like it came off the rollers yesterday, I had to go through many comics to get the "wet mint" set I have now. Usually around couple grand $$ for a mint example of the Tom Mix or the Cotes !! 17. Mojo posted one earlier today and I was inspired by that post. I have always liked “coral” colors in marbles and pick them up when the price is right. Once again, do not ask me who made them---I just like them ID-d or not. (I know who made the marbles in the tray and they are awesome as well, the tightest tray that I own) “Corals” always make my tail wag!

  22. I was more than a little hopeful that Halloween would be occur between Monday and Thursday this year. So I would be working at the evening job that I started last November. But since it's on a Sunday, we'll probably have stuff for the trick-or-treaters. Wait! Since it's on a Sunday, my husband won't have an excuse not to do it! He keeps buying candy and toys and putting them in goodie bags with the assumption that I'll hand them out. He can do it this year! Muwahahaha.

  23. Scored some mibs today and got some marble mail from friends & also a few items I purchased. A Christensen flame, an Alley coral, a handmade orange latt pee-wee, some other handmades & a transparent red Pelt cat, not a vey good shot I apologise, I'll get some better ones of it tomorrow !! A new (old) working game And a set of first run marbles. I can't show them yet because I got them for another as a gift so after they receive them I'll post the set here ?????????? (TBP) To Be Posted !!

  25. "Happy Akro Friday" A great score yesterday, a full set of Akroware, appears to be in very, very good shape for the age. Box # 112 pieces match the set w/ only a partial fold on one side. Plus they threw in an octagonal sugar bowl I needed. White & yellow cups are uv. 2nd week in a row, I'm a very happy camper @ .29¢ probably the original pencil mark & price from the store ??

  27. Make an offer, Sherry! Couldn't hurt. No one wants to overspend, but ya never know. We've all hit some nice little gems in jars/containers like that. My most memorable one thus far was an Akro Sparkler in a $12 jar. But obviously, we're looking at more than just a $12 jar. That's alot of fun in that picture. Not trying to push your buttons to buy, I just love the thrill of the chase. Maybe grab some advice from the pool of knowledge that is MarbleConnection. I think I know what I would offer. But what's the seller thinking? What's the seller know? Or doesn't Know? I would see what happens while trying to keep it in my budget 😊

  30. MFC's are handgathered marbles. They were made by someone sticking a metal rod into a pot of molten glass, then pulling out a blob of glass, spinning the rod in one direction to get the blob into better shape I guess, and then cutting the marble off the end of the rod. Then the still-molten marble would go down rollers which would help it become more spherical before it cooled off too much. This process creates a recognizable pattern in the glass, typically with a cutline on one end and a "nine-and-tail" on the other end. Your green marbles are machine-made. The first does appear to have a swirl pattern as you mentioned in your original post. The second appears to have a seam, meaning it likely would have come from a company which made patches. That could help narrow down the maker. The maker won't be MFC though.

  32. As an older collector in various fields of interest, and as a newer collector when it comes to the vast world of marbles; I can respectfully see the points made in both the pros and cons presented by my peers on this subject. Such is why I used the word "if" when saying Sherbet. Alot of unknowns regarding these "mystery" mibs. It will be interesting to see if future research does provide some kind of answers. Somewhere out there lies the answer to the beginning. Whether that answer is ever discovered remains to be seen. I would like too see something conclusive take place that will benefit the marble collecting community as it forges forward into undiscovered country 😊
