Me too! I saw Jerry Lee Lewis sing Great Balls of Fire live at the Brooklyn Paramount Theatre in 1957. An Alan Freed Rock 'N' Roll Show.

Wish i had seen him in 1957,saw him years later in Holland and unfortunately he was a little drunk.

Winnie said about Jerry Lee Lewis-

"Wish i had seen him in 1957, saw him years later in Holland"

Jerry Lee Lewis was cool in the fifties.

The trip to the Brooklyn Paramount to see him was a teenagers rock 'n 'roll dream.

I went with a few fellow fifteen year old friends.

The adventure started on the LIRR then switched to an 'EL', the elevated subway system.

The bouncy crowd of kids in the theater was noisy, but upbeat & fun.

Jerry Lee Lewis was a key act.

About 20 miles each way, going to the Paramount was an all day affair.

We went several times while I was in High School.

It was always a worthwhile trip.

You got it all from close experience, thats so cool.

We were dependent on the radio, not the national radio but the so called "pirate radio stations",there we heard the new music that came from America,

that was in the late 50s a sort of music revolution.

Wow. That was freaky hypnotic.

In an adrenaline-pumping way.

The recording was amazing, as far as emphasizing the

guitar playing while still having everything else in the background.

Headphones definitely required! ( :

O... M... G...!

That song is so ridiculously great!

I'd like the tune and the voices even

if the material was bad. Which it wasn't!

Of course this makes it even harder for me to 'bust' Steph and let

everyone know that any music she posts is the result of excessive

work from grossly under-paid employees. Here's a photo to prove it!
