Marble Auction Data...

FYI, I just did another database update to the MibCollectors database of to add about $550,000 worth of marbles sold at Auction...

So, the whole thing includes about $1.85 million dollars worth of marbles transactions now...

I also removed the registration requirement, so it's easier to use (for those who hate to create new web site accounts).

It's a 100% free research tool...hope others find it useful.

I'm not sure I'd call it an Indian.

But that's just me.

I'm also suspicious of the surface as shown in the pics. Looks like it might have already been buffed?

But why on earth would you polish a &13,000 marble???

To me it looks like the lovely product of an Indian that slipped off to meet a lady onionskin for a nooner . . .

Anyway, it should never have been polished. How could . . . never mind . . .

Darn ... I didn't visit there often enough ... I guess others didn't either.

I was in the mood for a random marble, so I thought I'd check it out and it's gone again. :(

Well ... it's showing up as blank for me. Is it showing up as blank for you?

Hi Steph and Ann,

I was recently pointed in the direction of the Morphy Auction listings by member MattShaw1953 (who also suggested the Marble Connection site).

As for Baumann's book, no, I have not come across that one before. I'll do a bit of searching online and see if I can pick up a copy. Sound like a resource I need.

Many thanks for the tips, I really appreciate receiving them.
