Akro Agate Marbles

Recommended Posts

Found this in a house I am gutting, most all the old stuff I have found with a date on it is from 1917 to 1929. Was wondering if this is of any value.

Very nice.  Some beautiful old marbles.    Handle them (and the box) with care.

Thanks I will do, I am not a collector but I do respect old things. I looked up the darker red ones not sure if mine are the rare ones. Since they have some value I may make a display for them or try to sell them locally one day. Till then I'll take care of them and the box. =)

I think the darker red ones are what are known as "bricks" by collectors.

When that style was first introduced it was called American Cornelian.

It is a popular and not easy to find marble style.

That box is a nice find. The five oxblood bricks are also nice. Bricks, slags and game marbles.
