20 # steelhead I caught about 8 years ago in the glacier fed Deschutes river on 8 pound line & a drift rod.. The steelhead are going all the way to clearwater Idaho we just intercept them on the way, a long & arduous journey another 350 mikes upstream. Steelhead are sea run trout not salmon, harvest trout also go to sea but generally don't get above 4 or 5 pound's & return annually. A Blessing being born here and coming back after the Navy, I love this area and wouldn't move for anything. We average 15 fish a day apiece before noon, with a bag limit if 3, we just keep the ones over 18 pounds. & release the rest. Still waiting for my first this year, they just opened the Columbia mainstem last week for steelhead & Chinook Jack salmon.

We hit Cresco (Tin Ceiling Antiques), Calmar (Whistlestop Antiques)and Decorah (The Depot) in Iowa today, a 4 hour jaunt where she scored and I struck out as far as adding to the glass masses but did grab a couple things...Hoping too get some hits tommorow then maybe some fishing for crappie, bluegill and northern 😊 See about posting some pics tomorrow 👍

Yesterday's scores, mostly hers...2 more of those lacquered figures (2 tallest ones), large amethyst horse, hand carved bear chief statue, Vintage cigarette box, and a slew of vintage lures, a couple  of Occupied Japan fishing kits still in the original packaging, I staked a claim to the hand carved samurai but he won't be resided in my displays. It was her day too shine since I owned Funday Friday with my scores 😊

Made the transition between curios, probably lower the stone and agate collection down a level and get brighter bulbs (the bulbs in there are many years old, never used much). Still have a little space to play around with. She still claims a spot for her Occupied Japan pieces though 👍

Went to Houston, Minnesota, about a 35 minute drive north of here too one of my honey holes fishing today with my brother in law. First hit was a nice pike but when he hit the top of the water for my lure he snapped it and was gone! After that just a whole lotta mediocre catfish, a couple of perch not quite pan size. Did get one nice crappie, let my brother in law take it home. These are all backwaters for the Root and Mississippi rivers, so lots of varieties of fish too catch. Sorry about not holding up the crappie for the pic, my brother in law was busy with a bite and had to be quick 😁

Lucky for you !! Unlucky for the fish

Yeah !! Some days their real finicky. We used to jig between logs on the log rafts when I was a kid. late evening was the best about 2 hours before dark !! Their last stab at some food I guess. All the log rafts are gone now "progress" All we have is open water like what you have.

One of my favorite seasonal hobbies has been gardening. Never really got into it until I bought my home and property back in 2001. Figured I would share some pics 😊 This is garden #1 in the "middle" yard....along with my little watermelon patch. My grass clippings work great for retaining moisture and stopping most of the weeds 👍

The neighbor's do benefit! We make tons of salsa in the fall, from mild to super hot, which is evident from the variety of peppers....there's always tons of peppers we just give too the neighbor's. We can't use everything that is grown, which is ok. It's just enjoyable!

Found these vintage billiards balls and rack this past weekend too (another one of my passions since I was a teenager). This particular set of miniatures would have been found in "men's parlors" during the very early 1900's. The rack I have is metal (not sure if it's original). I found a similar set a few months ago that I gifted my brother in law. His though, the balls weren't numbered or of good quality color and his rack was actually original wood that came with the set. Pretty cool 👍
