This is just an opinion; I believe that Akro coffin boxes were a production and maybe a bonus at marble competitions. They may have been “saved” in any arena, but marble competitors did save a lot of what they were proud of, right to the end. This used to be big stuff—the competitions. It still is but just not the same. Here is a pouch that I have in my collection. Why was it kept so long---well, you know, special to someone and special to me as well. I scored it 3 or 4 years ago if memory serves me right, I remember someone @ the Seattle marble show having hundreds of pieces of Akroware including a few like this one in 2017. The first image shows what I believe to be “Ringers” and they are harder to find (for me at least) than Popeyes. The second image shows Flinties and you all know that I just love-em. There are few rare ones for me, a white one and a yellow one. The next image shows the rest and who can resist a nice light blue snake. The other two are just, well corkscrews and who can resist a nice cork? One does glow like the dickens—love that! They are still out there.
