Akro Friday

Maybe I should know.  Should I know?  Is it in some document I've already posted and forgotten about?

Laugh Out Loud--this one deserves the words.
Join the club, as a man, this has always been a reality--it does not get better--as a man at least. If you do not know Steph, I doubt that anyone does.
This is just an opinion; I believe that Akro coffin boxes were a production and maybe a bonus at marble competitions.
They may have been “saved” in any arena, but marble competitors did save a lot of what they were proud of, right to the end.
This used to be big stuff—the competitions. It still is but just not the same.
Here is a pouch that I have in my collection. Why was it kept so long---well, you know, special to someone and special to me as well.
Marble—On!!

Happy Akro Friday

HTF amythest flowerpot/thumbpot...looks "black" until backlit. My understanding was that some had the artwork and some didn't, leaving me to assume that this version is more desirable.

Happy Akro Friday

Here is a pee wee ,i think its a Akro by the cuts but not sure if it’s a brick or just a red game mib ? there looks to be a few different shades of red in what is called Akro bricks when i was reading up on them so i’m not sure, it could be a Marble king too

Nothing on the bottom but I'm sure it's Akro. I scored it 3 or 4 years ago if memory serves me right, I remember someone @ the Seattle marble show having hundreds of pieces of Akroware including a few like this one in 2017. The dart type pattern is common to several pieces Akro made. I know you have a few pieces w/ it on them ??

Marble--On!!

Lol, gotcha. It's similar in some aspects at my house too...I even on occasion lose a marble too her if it catches her eye. Those nice mibs I posted for West Virginia Wednesday? They went back to the curio cabinet missing one 😐

These are new to me today, I just got them in the mail. All 5/8”-11/16”. A really nice score for me.
The first image shows what I believe to be “Ringers” and they are harder to find (for me at least) than Popeyes.
The second image shows Flinties and you all know that I just love-em. There are few rare ones for me, a white one and a yellow one.
The next image shows the rest and who can resist a nice light blue snake. The other two are just, well corkscrews and who can resist a nice cork? One does glow like the dickens—love that!
They are still out there.
Marble—On!!

Here is a pair of snakes.
The last image I happened across looking for some nice sunlight, I think that it was looking for the same.
We get along just fine, snakes and I but I will say that my dogs wanted to roll on my hands when I came back inside.
Marble—On!!

                                                                                    "Happy Akro Friday"

I know this isn't Akro but I still wanted to post it to show the uncanny resemblance to a piece of Akro.

This had me fooled till I looked inside, "Imperial" I still bought it because of the outstanding swirl pattern

As yourself and others here at MarbleConnection already know, I won't turn down a nice piece of slag. No matter who manufactured it. Nice Cornucopia, Chad! I've yet too run across one by Imperial in the wild. One day! 😊
