Edna, Lin and I just got back from the Seattle show. This is the first I have been on the board and heard of the news. When I heard of the accident my heart just sank and a knot in my stomach. I am so glad that we spent some time together at the Texas show and again briefly in Seattle. Weldon was a SUPER guy and will be sorely missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Edna and your family. Jim & Linda Wissler

What is the base color of Ron's marble, Could it be transparent red with white swirls and the "LUTZ" swirl. The reason I am asking is I have a marble just like Ron's only with a different base color. Mine is a transparent olive color with white swirls and the "LUTZ" swirl. These marbles seem well crafted and could have been a short run. I will post pictures in the AM. If anybody has some of these marbles please post pictures. Ron's is the only other one now that I have seen. Jim

The site of the marble show, just behind the hotel. The hotel is letting us have a room on the second floor for our meeting with Beri Fox. There is an elevator just in front of the show room so nobody has to climb stairs.
Hi Edna, Looking forward to getting back to Texas, and doing the show again. We will be getting to the hotel on Wed. Can't wait to see everybody. Jim P.S. save Lin and I a table, we will be joining the club again. Thanks

Does anyone have any thoughts on the yellow patch on bubbly clear (Vitro?) shown at the top of page 174 in Popular American Marbles? I always thought this was a Peltier until I noticed that pic - now I'm wondering . . .
Hi Ric
IMO Vitro Victories have to be completly clear glass. I think your marbles are Pelts or Kokomo, I would lean towards Kokomo. Jim

We are getting packed to do Bert's Northeast marble meet in Oct. Definitely looking forward to your show in Feb. Will see you then. Take Care, Jim

Hi David,
Great info, Always appreciated. Linda and I met you at the Columbus show a couple years back, you had a 1-inch 4-color saint marys catseye that i should have aquired, but was not fast enough. Are you going to the Sea-Tac show. Thanks -Jim

Hi Al,
1st attachment, top row, 2nd in from left looks like a single seam, might it be a peltier opaque miller swirl, if not I would like to know what it is. Thanks -Jim

Edna if you read this thread maybe you have imput. thanks in advance - PS I have done the texas shows in the past and they have been great, have not had the chance to do any the past couple of years though. -Jim

Hi Alan, Your thread and pictures are awesome. At the marble shows I get a lot of questions about Ravenswood as they are becoming really collectable, this is going to help me with ID,s. thanks so much -Jim

Hi Steve, I agree with Cat & bigtee0, but I also think Kryptonite had something to do with it. -Jim

[Hi Zigafoose, Thanks for answering my thread. The New Phila show has always been a good show for me, I was sorry that i could not do it this year. My next show will be Sec-Tac show in July, It will be my first time for this one. I am looking forward to it. -Jim

[Hi Lou, What a beautiful marble, I could have given you some competition for that marble if i to would have had the funds.
Thanks for the pics. -Jim

Hi J, Thanks for the replay, a really interesting marble. It would really be nice to see it at one of the shows. -Jim

Hey J, I do not think this is a submarine or a Joseph coat. I think it is a type of mist and Indian hybrid. The surface looks like it has ridges between the colors running from pole to pole, is this true? This marble looks like it might be a dug reject because of the surface. Sure is a pretty marble though. -Jim

Thanks so much for the over the top reply -Jim

Hi everybody - I am a new member of this site and this is my first post. I did not get a chance to do the New Philadelphia show this year, and was just wondering from the folks that were there about the room and show traffic with the economy the way it currently is. Any input would be appreciated. - Thanks, Jim

My wife and I had the pleasure of having breakfast with Everett at the Buckeye Marble Show, in Columbus,Ohio a few years back. It was good to get to know the big guy better. My first marble book was by Everett. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND. Jim and Linda Wissler
