  1. I know I've asked before but now I have something to compare it with. The one on the left is a brick, so what does that make the one on the right? They really seem to be made of different materials. The one on the right measures approx. 16.97 mm and the one on the right approx. 22.46 mm. The one on the right has parts that glow under the blacklight and I'm not sure about the one on the left yet, I haven't had a chance to get out the blacklight to look at it yet. Any thoughts on what the one on the right might be? Thanks again for any help.
  2. I actually found a couple this weekend! It's about time. lol. It's too bad that the ones in the second picture weren't in better shape though.
  3. The light doesn't shine completely through it but the grey/milky sort of translucent spots seem to be close to the surface only in a couple of spots. I just checked these spots out in a black light and they glow.
  4. So what type is it? What's a black brick made of?? Thanks again.
  5. It might be grey/milky colored under a couple of semi translucent areas. I'm really not sure what it is. It is really out of round and the areas that look like damage areas look like a spot where it was twisted off and a spot that's indented and there's a ruff patch on it like it has something strange in the mixture of whatever makes up the marble. It doesn't feel like any of the other older handmade marbles, it has a feeling all its own. Any help anyone could give me on what this marble might be would be great. Thanks again.
  6. Thanks again everyone please see page 2 for black light pic's.
  7. Any help on taking pic's of marbles would be appreciated. I've been collecting for a few years now but I'm still pretty new to this site. I've recently been trying to get some good pic's of my marbles but it's not going so well. I see what good pic's everyone has and I'd love to be able to take some anywhere near that good. I'm working with a 12.1 mega pixel sony cyber shot but I have a couple of other digital cameras with less pixels. I do have a scanner but haven't tried that yet. What should I do to get the best or better picture results? Thanks.
  8. I'll try to get some better pic's but I keep having to resize them to get them to fit. Thanks
  9. Here's some of the marbles that were with the clear one, I'm not sure if it helps. There's one other marble I was hoping to find out a little more about, there's three pic's of it. I know that it's not clay, bennington, crockery, china, or glass. I think it's the paper mache. Outside of that I don't know much about it, or even how much it's worth. Thanks See pic's below please And Pic's on page 2
  10. I recently sent a marble through the mail and it never made it to where it was going. It was a good thing that I insured it. I have all of the stuff I need to file the insurance claim except for a scan/picture of the page in the Marble Collectors Handbook by Robert S. Block that shows the Peltier clown picture and its price. I thought I had the book where I could find it, but I was wrong. If anyone could help by sending me a scan/picture of the page(s) showing the Peltier clown and its price in this book, it would really help to speed up the process of the claim. I appreciate any help that anyone can give. Thanks. Mindy
