Hi All, its nice to be back. I just happened to read the article on the Amsterdam Marble Co. tonight and found it very interesting. I have three very large marbles that were given to me by a very dear friend who recently passed away. He was German and was brought up in Germany until his mother married a U.s. Military man. And became a U.S. citizen than he himself joined the Military which the Army then transferred him back to Germany because he spoke his native language fluently and stayed in Germany until almost time to retire. They are so different and have a metallic look about them. Why don't i just show it to you and tell me what you think? I just hope I can figure out how to download the photographs its going to be hard choosing just a couple
Thank you and Have a really Great weekend

Hello everyone, I don't know how or why my name is up on this post? Strange.
This is the first time I even went into this message no more than 10 minutes ago. And here I am checking it out and see my name and avatar. With no posting.just my name moonlightsharon and the picture of the marble I chose for my avatar. So I decided might as well right something and not leave it blank. So here I am..
Wishing all of you at Marbleconnection A New Year that brings you happiness through out the year.

My God!!!! Everyone's marble's are out of this world!!! I feel a little intimidated with my little marble collection!!!
They are absolutly Beautiful everyone!!!! Hi I did'nt get your name to this post before I went in sorry. What a wonderful collection you have! Sorry this is going to be a kind of long post you all.
3'rd pic down, 2'nd row down smack dab in the middle, a Christensen swirl right? I have a marble something like that, that I have been trying and trying to research. You have another marble in pic 5 down. the marble on the top right 3 or 4 over 3'rd row down. It's a blueish grey w/yellow swirls w/a thin grey line seperating the colors. Can you tell me what it is I have been searching and searching on information on a marble that looks just like that can I send a picture and you tell me if they are the same marble and what it is? I woul appreciate it very much.
I also wanted to tell you that I fell in love with the marble 4'th picture down from the left 3'rd one up from the bottom black orange and creamy white! It's really different and unique!
Thank you, all of you for sharing all of your photo's
This is really fun!! What a great site!

I am so sorry to hear about this, I have had mine stolen and I know what it's like! Your marbles are apart of you. Mine are anyway's. Is there anyway we can get some pic's of some of the marbles so we can keep a look out in other places. Also, might try Craigslist if it has'nt already been thought of. I truly hope that they are caught soon and he get's his marbles back.

I am almost positive this is not Vacor, I don't know what it is, but not Vacor. It is slightly transparent along one of the blue stripes...you can see the blue stripe go a little deep (in all 3 pics) along the transparent black; that center black stripe is the only transparent one...but only slightly. The rest of the black is opaque. When did they make the imitations?
This one looks to me exactly like the first mib on the left in post #10....my flash has washed out the color a bit on my pic, in hand, the color is actually a little more lavender than my pics shows.
Hi Jill, how have you been? Good I hope! From the picture's I've seen on this link it sure looks like one to me!!! How exciting if it is Wow! I was told by another member that they are worth 4 to 6 hundred dollars. I'm just telling you what another member told me and he said Don't sell it! That is when he thought mine was a Blue Panther. Anyway it is beautiful. Take care.

need some clearer pics but that may be a Vacor
You know I had a feeling that it might be a Vacor, I don't know my marbles as well as I want too. But that is one of the reason's I am here to learn. If you want clearer pictures I will see what I can do. I have this sneacking feeling it is a Vacor. It does look simular to the one in the picture of the Plets shown. So doe's Vacor try to copy old marble makers or something? Are we aloud to ask that? Oh well, I want to know, and know what to look for.
Thanks Sharon

Thanks for those kind compliments Chuck and Craig. Is this the pic your looking for I'llhavethat? It was in the pelt thread. These are owned by another well known collector. It has 2 sky blue and 2 darker bruiser blue. I dont see the in between smeared blue in the pic. Although the collector may have one.
Hello everyone thank you for all the wonderful photos and especially showing me what the blue panther looks like. I was wondering what the name of the marble at the top left 3'rd one over, the funny green color base with orange and brown swirls is called and if you can tell me if the one I have is Peltier or not?
Thank you very much, Sharon

We must do something different her on west coast. We call that marble a BLUE PANTHER. There are 3 different types. All have little to no aventurine. The black is opaque. The base color of the type that Steph shows is baby blue. The base color of another is the same as the Bruisers but seperated ribbons and black opaque. The briusers are green when backlit. The last is a shade in between the two. The ribbons start solid but then tend toward smearing. Some of this last has the zig zag pattern seen on most Pelt slags. I know of one of this type that has a distinct "9". The pic here shows the three types in first vert row. The type that Steph shows is the middle one. Is Craig's the same but rainbow pattern? Possible. Craig's looks like maybe type 2 in base color. The 3rd in the pic.
Hi, what is the marble on the left side 2'nd down from the top? And I just wanted to thank everyone for their replys. I have to go so I'll finish the posts later this evening. You have some beautiful pelts! Thanks for shareing.

Mmmmm is right I was really hoping it was a Christensen swirl oh well it's pretty.
If you grew up on home cooked meals, rode a bike with no helmet, lived in a house that was not "child-proof", got spanked when you misbehaved, had three TV channels and had to get up to change them, if school started with the Pledge of Allegiance, stores were closed on Sunday and you drank water out of a water hose and still turned out okay, repost this and show that you survived!!
I DONT KNOW THIS POPED UP
WHEN I TRIED TO PUT A FACE ON OH WELL IT'S TRUE SEE I HAV'NT EVEN FIGURED OUT HOW TO PUT UP A FACE YET!!

Thank you for your fast response I just wish I had better pics than what I have.

I have a swirl marble been told it's Christensen, been told it came from Germany in the 1980's alsp been told it is Vacor but I have looked up Vacor swirls and they dont look anything like this one. I will put some pictures up on marble i.d. today or tomorrow. Just curious if Germany may have put out some marbles in the 1980's Nevermind I have them here I can send better photos if you need them.
Thanks for time and knowledge
