Are they UV reactive? Sometimes? Never? Is that not a big deal? I think I buy/collect marbles based on some ancient kid memories. Now I'm into the Bloodies.

I know I had these when I was a kid, but I don't see that many around now. So maybe I don't remember so well... Are they so common that nobody bothers to put them on the bay? I would love to see your pictures and hear your thoughts on how to tell the real from the imposters.

Clyde, you make a point, however I do not want the marble police pounding on my door demanding to look at my mibs! It has got to be a matter of "self policing". I would love to see what some of the marbles I have would look like all shined up but I think that's a bit of a sin to me. My take on this is if everything is wet, dripping, shiny, new, mint, we will have lost the history and value and beauty of all of it. It's like that Twilight Zone episode: Number 12 Looks Just Like You.

I swear, all I want are old marbles. I do not want ANYTHING polished. If they're shiney that's GREAT! But please don't polish anything, or grind anything, or set a torch to it. Are there no purists left?

I've loved marbles since I was a kid in the 50's. I've collected for a long time and started buying on EBay a few years ago. But the folks on this board scare the crap out of me and I'm not sure I would ever go to one of your shows. There's a competitiveness that's too aggressive for me. And a seeming lack of human kindness.
