  1. I recently bought 200 marbles out of a collection of 5000ish. This and the other Greiner marble I posted pics of were among those. I recognized a lot of what I bought, but not everything. I took these due to the fact they were clearly antique handmades of some kind. Glad I did!
  2. I'm certainly happy to have added one to my collection!
  3. Thanks for the info. It does have an egg yolk quality to the color. It is just under 3/4" (.73)
  4. Thanks for the ID help folks. How rare are these marbles? I hadn't heard about them at all and had to do a web search to learn some about them, but even there there is not much info about them.
  5. Thanks to all who helped with the ID! How rare are Navarre marbles? I know this isn't the best example by far, but the company wasn't around for very long at all. Just interested in knowing the rarity of finding one.
  6. Thanks for the help. However it does not glow at all under UV.
  7. Again, I took some pics in the sun per your suggestion Akroorka. The marble is just under 11/16 inch. The pontil is in the first pic. Definitely shows in hand.
  8. I took some pics in the sun per your suggestion Akroorka. Hope it helps. The marble is just under 3/4 inch. The pontil is in the first pic. It looks more polished/smoothed and doesn't show well in the pic. If I understand correctly, the maker would often clean up the pontil on a nicer marble, as opposed to the more 'mass made' handmades. Or maybe it is a transitional and the rollers smoothed it out some? Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about... I have some, but not extensive, marble experience and exposure. Thanks for any and all help!
  9. It is a single pontil with an amber base. The white glass is at the surface on about 3/4 of the marble but there is a window in where you can see an off center wispy core. Another who, what, when, where marble.
  10. Here is an interesting one. It is a single pontil and from the top has a left hand swirl and from the bottom has a right hand swirl. The 2 merge together at the equator. The yellow glass also forms a partial core inside the marble. Any ideas on who, what, when, where it was made?
  11. One more Oxblood post. Does anyone know who made these cats-eye marbles with oxblood?
  12. Thanks for the prompt reply Akroorka! And I like the oxblood and egg yolk, Tommy. I just got my first one. Here is a pic along with my 2 lemonade oxbloods.
  13. My first post, just in time for Oxblood August! I just picked up these bricks and am thinking they are either M.F.Christensen or Akro- correct? And how do you tell the difference between the 2 companies? The bigger 2 are 3/4" and the other 3 are 5/8".
