I just felt better about being a little more clear about when and where the miscuts originally took place. I have my share of off center Topps baseball and football cards and love em.
I kinda remember when these doctored cards started appearing. Trained eyes could spot them after a close examination. Actually, unless I personally knew the source, I don't think I would buy a card pre-1990 unless it was officially checked out and graded by an established grading service.
I totally agree. I have many diamond cuts.

Also used to "sharpen" corners artificially. I can understand the practice you speak of more. I mostly hate when trimming is used to deceive. Same with marbles some polish to deceive.
