Chad, Thanks for the reply, I cant imagine why someone went through the trouble to put a date on them either....

I recently purchaed some items at an aution that included some marbles. I am a novice when it comes to understanding age, value etc of marbles which is why I am here. Included in the group of marbles are some clay marbles that have what looks to be markings or a date stamp on some of them, but why? I have searched the internet to try and find any information, unsuccesfully and hoped this group might shed some light on this.
