Gold & Silver Fuming Glass Work ⚗️

This set shows the materials and results from gold and silver fuming on glass marbles. The photos include metal rods with different color responses, a silver-wrapped marble, a gold-fumed example, and a piece with both metals applied. Also shown are black sand and gold flakes hand-panned from the Willamette River, which are part of the source material for the series. The focus is on how each metal reacts in the flame, how the fumes bond to the glass, and the color shifts produced under different heat conditions.
  2. 🎁🔥🏍️🚒 NATIONAL MARBLE MISSION BEGINS 🚗✨🔵 A successful first wave of marble filled holiday packages has launched across the United States, reaching toy runs from New York to Florida, San Diego, San Francisco, and the Pacific Northwest. Fire departments 🚒, motorcycle clubs 🏍️, car clubs 🚗, and community toy drives 🎁 are now receiving these small spheres of joy 🔵 each one meant to spark wonder, play, and connection during the giving season. This nationwide effort marks the beginning of an ongoing mission to share thousands of marbles with families, collectors, and communities far and wide. More shipments are already preparing for departure, carrying the spirit of generosity, tradition, and childhood imagination into the hands of those who need it most. ✨🌎🎄
  3. Rooted in the belief that simple objects can spark imagination, the project seeks to revive the timeless joy of marbles as symbols of play, curiosity, and community connection. This first delivery represents the opening chapter in a wider effort. Beginning Friday, marble gift packs will be mailed to partner Toy Drives in several states, supported by friends, volunteers, and local groups eager to share the tradition. Each marble bag is a small piece of a larger story one discover a tiny treasure, a moment of wonder, and a reminder that play still matters. The “I Found a Marble” initiative was created to encourage communities to reconnect with classic toys, neighborhood games, and shared experiences. By distributing thousands of marbles across different cities, the project hopes to spark conversations, inspire local hunts, and quietly rebuild a culture of simple joy one marble at a time. As more states join the effort, the mission remains centered on generosity, imagination, and the belief that even the smallest gifts can carry big meaning. The journey continues this week as shipments begin, expanding a movement that belongs to everyone who chooses to take part.

  5. Artist Statement – Elsinore Benefit Night

Walking into the Elsinore auction, I was struck by the energy artists, collectors, families, and supporters filling the room. The silent auction tables were busy, the live auction was lively, and the whole space felt warm and connected.

As I moved through the gallery, I kept hearing people talk about the marble set: couples comparing bids, guests marking their cards, and several saying, “I really want that marble set.” Before I even reached the display, I knew it had captured attention.

When I saw it, I understood why. The marbles were arranged on a mirrored glass tray, glowing under the lights, with the Press Play magazine feature on the Great Marble Hunt behind them a perfect reflection of Salem’s art community and the stories we’ve built this year.

I had expected each marble to be auctioned separately, but seeing them offered as a full set made the moment even more meaningful. This was my second auction, and I’m grateful the work sold and helped support a historic Salem institution. Moments like this remind me why I create marbles bring people together, spark curiosity, and carry their stories forward.
