  1. These pics are very helpful because I have these and it’s been hard to figure out what they are.
  2. these 9 vane 3 color cat’s eyes are discussed in Elizabeth Kempski’s book. They are believed to be Japanese by most collectors who have them, but one collector has reported buying them from Indonesia and believes them to be Indonesian, she says. I believe these are Vintage and Japanese.
  3. Not MK - KM — Chinese company not the American company first time I heard of them was when I was looking for an ID for the exact same marble as you will see at the top of this thread:
  4. Did you look into King Marbles? Chinese company, they look a lot like Vacor and go just as big. https://kingmarbles.com/classic-marbles/ I don’t see this combination but that’s my guess. Vacor is much better documented… I have one I thought was Vacor but it was just off of Fiesta colors - green instead of the blue ribbon. The ribbons also had more pointy angles rather than squared off. Finally found a king marbles photo that matched. this page also talks about Chinese marbles https://www.marblecollecting.com/marble-reference/online-marble-id-guide/foreign-manufacturers/
  5. I love them so much, and I picked up this jar that had several — the others much more subdued than this one.
  6. I never explored the Joe Marbles site before - the reference photos are incredible and I found a few bright red / mostly red sunsets so I feel more comfortable with that ID now. I appreciate everyone’s responses and helping me persist in trying to find similar examples! https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/1Marble Picture Pages/14Master/Master 011/1 Master Large Pages/Master Marble-Glass Co. 11-18.html https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/1Marble Picture Pages/14Master/Master 008/1 Master Large Pages/Master Marble 8-04.html https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/1Marble Picture Pages/14Master/Master 008/1 Master Large Pages/Master Marble 8-13.html
  7. It was with some Masters AND some Akro… I think it’s kind of spectacular. The transparent area is bright orange-red. Somewhere between mariscino cherry and safety vest. I just thought it was too bright for Master but then I found a few examples that include a very bright orange-red. https://www.peltiermarbles.info/mastermarbles Some wedges of these beauties are also very bright https://www.westvirginiamarblecollectorsclub.com/master Think I’ll call it that for now! Thank you!
  8. This marble has bright red/orange base glass with striations and small strands of yellow or black. Size is 5/8” photos are in cloudy day sunlight followed by strong indoor lamp to show the structure better.
  9. Very cool. Looks like something out of Tolkien / a very unusual conqueror 😃
  10. Jealous! I do know what the really nice ones look like — I just wasn’t sure if mine even qualifies! It does have av, in a sad sort of Charlie Brown Christmas tree kind of way 🤣
  11. Thanks! (I guess) just kidding I sincerely do appreciate it. The photo on EBay made it appear much nicer — in person it’s sort of a clove of garlic with a green halo. 🧄😇
  12. This was sold to me as a French Sparkler, but does not match the photo I bid based on. However it does appear to have Aventurine in it. Anyone have any insight on this one?
  13. Responding more than a year later to thank you for helping me ID mine!
  14. Found this thread looking for a comparable to one of mine. FWIW Elizabeth Kempski referred- via Facebook- identified mine as a Peltier. She said earlier cats/bananas looked all kinds of ways with filaments and things and that pink base glass is known but HTF . Mine has more bubbles than yours but just figured I’d share - few different backgrounds and lighting .
  15. Apologies- I looked again and the orange green and white was labeled (early) Vacor after all. Dang, I was so excited! I’m really getting into these marbles and appreciate your taking the time to respond.
  16. Also the far left is definitely Vacor I just wondered date and name. Red could be Asian.
  17. The two on the right are specifically shown in the Stephen Bahr video - the middle one I’m pretty sure as well - precisely those exact ones. What’s the tip off that they were manufactured later?
  18. Forgot to mention the orange, green, and white — which there are definitely examples of in the video—has awesomely chunky little blobs of aventurine in it.
  19. Been freeze framing Stephen Bahr’s video and think I have some El Aguila cats eyes. The three on the right I’m pretty sure match his examples? The shooter, I can’t find a comparable but it has orange peel texture. The red I see identified as Asian by some folks online but base glass is clear and I see skinny caged cats in the video. Anyone have any insights?
  20. Hello! This cat’s eye has that frilled look I associate with El Aguila and vintage Vacor (since seeing this pointed out in a Stephen Bahr video!) but I have a lot more still to learn about both cats eyes and Mexican marbles so I’m posting in hopes someone can straighten me out. Is it actually Vitro! Maybe it’s Asian… just curious about this one!
  21. Hello! I wanted to hone in on these specific Vacors because I don’t see them in the ID guides I find online or in Steven Bahr’s videos (I think). The speckled one — I have a bunch of Galaxies with different colored speckles but this one does not have a black base. It is brown/dark amber transparent base glass with red speckles and a few white speckles. The blurry photo is my attempt to show light shining through… Any ideas? The second is 42 mm and sort of Fiesta-ish except there’s blue where there should be green. Curious if anyone knows what these are?
  22. Ooooh cool! I can’t remember for sure where I got it but i think it’s from a group I found at a consignment store that had been brought in by a widow of a collector. It had lots of treasures that the store didn’t recognize. That would be very exciting. My collection is interesting for me but I don’t have tons of show stoppers.
  23. Oh wait… I think it’s a two seam so that means NOT hand gathered? Is that right?
  24. Thank you!!! The green is very beat up - hard to get good pics. Yay I do have a CAC!! And more importantly I’m starting to get what hand gathered looks like. Thank you appreciate your taking the time.
  25. Hello, I watched Stephen Bahr’s great video on slag ID’s and now I’m wondering if these two wounded warriors are CAC’s. These aren’t show pieces or valuable in this condition but it would be exciting to be able to say I have CAC’s in my collection. Appreciate your help as I am still learning and slags are extremely confusing to me!😜
