  1. The other thing that struck me was the depth of the white. On previous posts, especially my CAC white/orange striped opaque, the white was pointed out as being especially white and a known sign of CAC. This white seems very dense, and it pops. Many of my white+ Alleys have a far less intense white as the base. That said, if @cheese says it’s Alley, just shiny, I trust that. But that’s what I noticed that made me ask
  2. No, this is perfect! Any opportunity for us to learn and become better at identifying, that’s why I’m here. I have white/red alleys and this one stands out. I actually started looking at Vacors before I posted because it seemed so shiny I figured it might be more modern. Always happy to have you guys on my thread, helping me sort them out 🙏👍
  3. Pretty sure this is an alley, it just seems almost too shiny. Possibly polished? Size is .64
  4. To be honest, I don’t know. They’re on eBay and that’s sort of become my main source for marble photos at this point because my marble books don’t have a ton of large photos and when I look them up there, I usually get enough spread in the images to get a good idea of the variation. But I was reading about Moonies in my American Machine Mades book and went down a rabbit hole
  5. Also, I had noticed another one with the exact same marks so that made me wonder 🤔
  6. Awesome! I thought I read something about parallel | | type seams or something somewhere so that’s why I asked. I definitely appreciate the info! Thank you both! 🙏
  7. Hello! Question about Moonies. I know these are a complete pain to identify, and for that reason I’m not really asking for an ID necessarily. I’m mostly asking if these are cutlines and if so, are they indicative of one maker over another. Do they tell you anything about whether it’s more likely one over another? Just trying to educate myself. the size is .77
  8. Thank you! I did buy this one! I’m pretty sure I’ve developed a marble addiction. I’m not buying anymore for a little while 😂
  9. Wow, what an awesome color combo 🤩
  10. Oh yeah, that totally makes sense. I think I love MFC and AKRO mostly because I live in North Canton, Ohio. So the origins of both are so close to home. Both are about an hour or just over away
  11. Amazing resources, thank you!! and why did you stop?
  12. Wow really? Was not expecting that
  13. Oh I see! I wasn’t sure if they were their own thing, like some smaller marble producer or something like that. So essentially, it sounds like in the world of guineas, there’s Christensens and then imitations.
  14. These are about .51 Are they more modern? Never seen anything quite like these?
  15. You know, I didn’t. I had also purchased a couple others, and got great deals on those. So if figured I would be respectful/appreciative after getting two others for discounts.
  16. Thank you all for the help! I ended up buying this one after all. Very happy to add it to my collection!
  17. Yes it is a transparent green base!
  18. This is going to sound very naive, but are they connected to block auctions? I’m not familiar with the eBay seller that has this marble, I found it just because I was looking for bricks. Admittedly I’m still a greenhorn Edit: (I just looked it up and answered my own question) If they say something is a CAC, how reliable are they? Is there still decent room for error on what they call something?
