Thank you, this is extremely helpful! I have some other marbles in this group that I'm extra curious about. I'm attaching two angles of each; please let me know if video clips would be helpful. Here's a breakdown of my curiosities:
1: Completely clear. Many cracks visible under a loupe. Does/did Marble King manufacture anything like this? Unable to find a “clear” answer (lame pun intended).
2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 15: Unlike anything else in this group. No obvious matches found. Still looking…
3: The only shooter in this group. Some smaller marbles contain a similar shade of orange (one included for reference), but none of those contain yellow. Haven’t found anything similar manufactured by Marble King…yet.
6: Smallest marble in this group (slightly smaller than standard). Haven’t found anything similar. I’m starting to wonder if this is an old ball bearing that snuck into the bag.
8: These two are similar to each other, but the shade of green is completely different. The marble with the “Kelly green” (lower right) is the only one with this shade of green. Are these the same type of marble?
9: Two single-color cat’s eyes. There are lots of these in this group. I have no clue how to distinguish one manufacturer from another with these..
10: The only turquoise cat’s eye in this group. I wonder why…
11: Completely white with grayish veins (extremely light) only visible under a loupe. Interesting! Not finding anything similar.
14: There are lots of these in this group (color is redder than shown here). I found multiple possible matches (wasp, red devil, black widow), but I have no idea how to distinguish between them.
A bit more information about this group of marbles: I won them in an estate auction (~2 pound bag for $8.00). They were presented as "vintage", whatever that means. Their owner was a male in his 90s. I'm not sure if he was a collecter, or someone with a jar of marbles sitting around.
In a nutshell: I'm trying to figure out if these are all recent MK productions, or a mixture from different manufacturers/time periods. I've been finding lots of conflicting informtion. Are there any specific resources that are more reliable than others?
Thank you, I sincerely apprecite any guidance!
