AMarcin Posted March 13, 2009 Report Share Posted March 13, 2009 ANNOUNCING THE 13th ANNUAL MARBLE FESTIVAL CAIRO, WEST VIRGINIA Where: Downtown Cairo (Ritchie County) West Virginia When: Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 Open for display and vendor set -up at 8:00 AM Open to the public 10:00 AM Exhibits of antique and contemporary marbles for sale, trade and viewing. Contemporary marble artists participating as vendors. An on-site hot glass demonstration. Exhibit of histories of all West Virginia marble companies. Marble games available. Free marble identification. Sales of marble books, literature, and more. Free marbles for all attendees (compliments of the marble companies). SPECIAL FIRST TIME FEATURE: For the first time ever, The National Marble Museum in conjunction with the West Virginia Museum of American Glass, will display a wide spectrum of its beautiful marble collection in a non- museum setting. Be sure to see it!!!!!! Great food will be available on site. Free set-up for vendors. Free admission and free parking. On Friday evening, May 1, between 6 PM and 8 PM there will be an informal marble gathering at RC Marshall Hardware Store in downtown Cairo. It is always a great time to get together and meet marble people and talk about marbles. Light refreshments will be served.
