Chasing the drastically flickering flame around with a tiny hot ball of lava on the end of a glass rod is far from ideal. The breezes are unpredictable and can affect the glass temps in the orb! Charles got distracted and left the annealing kiln on too long causing flat spots. It is good to share the mistakes and failures to document how the process goes.
