SequoiaBET
I've been posting some marbles for ID help recently and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Bruce and I have been collecting marbles for about 12 years. My main focus by far has been on recent Jabo, SMM, and DAS. I have amassed a collection of nearly five thousand marbles that includes most every Jabo contract run and tank wash starting in 2008 thru Dave McCullough's departure in 2012. I also have marbles from every SSM run and most DAS runs. I really like these marbles visually, but also appreciate being able to know the run names and dates. All but maybe 20 or so of that collection is from unknown runs- I have the rest grouped by run. Over that time I have also gotten a few antique hand mades and maybe a hundred or so low end vintage machine mades. I recently got a killer deal on 200 marbles- 125 or so which are higher quality vintage machine mades. I am only beginning to learn how to ID these. To be honest, it is a steep learning curve! I think you really need to see larger batches of each kind from each company together in hand to begin to appreciate the often subtle differences in glass, colors, and patterns. I really admire those of you here who seem to do so with such ease! And I really appreciate the time and effort you put into helping others, including me, out. There seems to be a really great solid core of people here and I look forward to continuing to participate, learn, and share with you all.
