Yeah, that's a newer marble.

I'd be really interested in seeing them, don't recall ever seeing any of the exotic cullet! Didn't take any pics, did you? Also got to see some spectacular dug marbles and cullet that was like many of the so called exotics.

I think she's referring, to all of these, as being Akro experimentals.

What's TIAS? Never mind...found it.

I always equated Latticinio's as having cores made of strings of colored glass and the inner core, of the one above, looks more like ribbons. Is it still considered a Latticinio?
-
It is interesting! The color blobs resemble a Guinea. Are you confident it's antique? Maybe some experts will chime in.

Galen, top row, second from right (first pic) is a killer!!

After having many conversations with several 20 yr plus collectors, I believe many marbles have went down in average selling price. I would love to hear others thoughts on this, as well as, historical prices of handmades vs machine mades.

Definitely a hand gathered, ground pontil. I love the deep, thick layers of ox....great marble! I really like these in the blue and green glass.

and what is rare in this case? How many blue galaxy's are there? 10, 100, 500, or even more?
I don't have any numbers to validate my off the cuff statement, but in my experience, it's Peltier's rarest/most sought after mib, that know I of....which isn't saying a lot, compared to some of the other folks visiting this board...lol.

A rare Peltier mib...

Cool marbles! I've seen a black latticinio before, but not in-hand.

Wow, those look to be in killer condition!! Are you getting these from collectors, or someone that just happened to have them?
And no, you don't often find cordless swirls in that size.
-
I'd bet you a dollar, just to see it in hand. I don't suppose anyone knows who won it?
-
Not 100 percent sure, but I've seen some of these weird bricks before and I think they old (wouldnt bet lunch on it, though), but maybe they were juat a weird batch. I also believe they are Akro and not MFC. They are usually in the 5/8's range, with 11/16 being the biggest I've seen. The guy that has the USA Display website, who also sells Mibs, has quite a few of these (if I had any credence before, I probably just lost it after mentioning that guy, lol)

I have one that has fifteen blue lines and one green line, with a white base...I'll see if I have a pic.

It looks like it belongs with zaboo's gutta perchas. It's a nice one!!
-
Looks original to me.

I would expect a remelt to have a smooth, glossy surface, much like the one Lady marble Jeroen bought. This one looks to have the typical kind of wear you would see on an old handmade.

The guinea, in the left hand corner, doesn't have a red base...does it?

Bermar,
Maybe I'm crazy, but that doesn't look like oxblood to me?? Could it be a slag, or does it appear to be ox, in hand? Either way, I love it!! Thanks!
-
I assumed it was you?? Why didn't you buy it...already got one like it, only twice as big, lol??
-
That's ridiculous!!

Those are odd colors for a handmade. Weird structure as well! Very interesting.
