  1. He has been at it since Aug of 2013 and would bet has racked up a bunch of Ebay and Paypal fees which they gladly except and as long as the cash is coming in Ebay will turn a blind eye. What really pisses me off is the re-sellers in the states that intentionally deceive bidders knowing full well that when they purchased the marbles they weren't vintage. Rant over, lol.
  2. Folks: I missed more than I thought since I have been gone and these are one of them. As several other member have done I bought 8 of these to study. What a waste of money, fortunate for me the prices for these modern marbles is falling as more collector steer away from them but I believe it is the new collector whom are most at risk and am asking Steph to being the topic back up. I am going to re-list them as contemporary marbles and go into extreme detail, lol. Vintage my ass, lol. Bill
  3. Black lights are great tools, rather inexpensive and a fun way to view marbles. Would bet this one light up like the sun.
  4. Look like a re-melt in MHO. Regardless it wouldn't end up in my collection, lol.
  5. Here is UV shot, 4 of the 5 Popeyes don't or barely re-act to UV with the exception of the one we are discussing which lights up like a light bulb. I placed a Vaseline and a Carnelian beside it for comparison.
  6. WOW!! Top left corner is a match (mine lacks the volume of white), thanks. Beautiful group!!!!
  7. Again, leaning heavily on my fading memory, lol, I believe he total me at the time it was Akro, maybe he'll drop by and help clarify this.
  8. Not sure what that means but if it's UV reactive, the answer is yes like a light pole, lol. I have never had one quite like this before. Normally the yellow bends into an orange tint (love the effect) but this is something different, color in hand is spot on but my knowledge of Popeye"s is sorely waning.
  9. Folks: Does this qualify as a "egg yoke"? Has a single cluster of hits but sure is a unusual color, for me at least. Thanks, Bill
  10. Damn Steph!!!! I expected it to last longer but then again it's the "old timers" to the rescue, lol. Looks like I need to dig deeper. We should play stump the "old timers", lol.
  11. Um.....how best to address "old timers", lol. Never really considered age as a factor, at 59 and collecting for over 20 years I still am humbled by the younger (old timers), more knowledgeable collectors willing to share information and then there are the "old timers", those of you who have forgotten more information than I could ever possible learn but are still willing to put up with all of us who repeatedly question the same old question: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? Here is a hint, this was given to me by Leroy (not even sure he remembers schooling me on polished hand made's at the time, a true sign of an "old timer", lol) in 2000 at Council Buff, Iowa. If memory serves me correctly it's name comes from a farm animal, lol. Oh the joy of always asking questions and imagining an "old timer" sitting in front of his/her computer shaking their head thinking "oh well here we go again", lol. Well frankly I for one appreciate all that has been shared with me by so many over the years, regardless of how ridiculous or how repetitive my questions are. So if you are an "old timer" then, Thanks, Bill
  12. Folks: Thanks, I knew that if I waited long enough the old timers would come to my rescue, thing never change, as always thanks!! Bill
  13. Hi Folks: Last extra set and others listing I have if anyone is interested. 14. Lol Ann, I researched it at length and couldn't figure it out. There is a ton of information available on the different runs, great read!! Here are two of my favorite not for sale sets from the 2008 season. Without question Jabo makes some stunning marbles. Bill
  15. Super! Thanks for the help! I am listing them tonight and will post a link. They really are a nice set to pass on.
  16. Hi Folks: I am trying to figure out these signatures from a 2008 Fall Harvest Aventurine Set and would appreciate any help. I plan on listing these but want to make sure the listing is as accurate as possible. I have four of the six: Jim King Ed Parson Rick Hall Kevin Plummer I looked on the Jabo web page but can't match them up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill
  17. Folks: If anyone is interested, been in my collection since spring of 2009. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301541334888 Thanks, Bill
  18. Cool! Yes the base is clear on both and the one on the right corks and has a trace of white filaments, the one of the left attempts to cork by trails poorly and the white looks more like a smear as opposed to a deliberate patch. Either way these types are SWEET! Anyone else have an example of these? Love to see them. Thanks folks! Bill
  19. Hi folks, Got these in the mail and while I get a hybrid pop eye feel from them I have learned that I am more often times wrong, lol. These came with a several other pop eyes as well as others. Any thoughts? Thanks, Bill
  20. Hi Folks: These beauties showed up today and while I feel sure they are early Akro Sparklers I just don't know how early and the one on the right front is as strange as it gets, lol. Any help would be graetly appreciated. Thanks, Bill .
  21. Folks: The joy in attending the shows is the people!!!!! Oh, and all those beautiful marbles as well. To put faces with individuals you have met only on the marble forums or purchased from on Ebay is priceless!! It's almost like you have known them forever and two lost friends are finally getting back together. And I never have enough money to get all I want but I always have a smile on my face on the trip home from what I was able to afford. Bill Life is a Journey Not a Guided Tour
  22. Thanks folks! I believe I remember see these being in the Jabo box set about 15 years ago, lol.
  23. Folks: Not sure what these are but they are really beautiful, about 5/8" on a soft white or pale green base, the red is very deep but under a strong light appears to be clear where the colors meet. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill
  24. Folks: Ran across this in my Akro's, SWEET! Bill
