  1. Joes marbles is absolutely right. A big change is coming. There will be a wave of repro's you will not believe. All of your time will be spent trying to decide what is what and if it is real and not, and the the values for top of the line will drop like a blimp full of anvils. Mark my words.
  2. Bumblebee, that's pretty cool. Have you tried that with that Ebay box? Hdesousa, that's pretty harsh. If I had a friend that made hot dogs, I would hope he wouldn't tell me how they were made so I could keep on enjoying them. My friend is not into worth but aesthetics and we are way beyond either of us ever NOT calling the other friend. I will ask him where he got his Akro box and see if I can get a photo, but knowing him he probably still uses a Brownie with real film.
  3. Well, the book should say that that box is incomplete because that makes my friends box also incomplete in exactly the same way, which is curious. However, I sure wouldn't have the heart to tell him that. Well, thanks for the info!!!!
  4. I don't understand, why is the whole layout of the box so different?
  5. Maybe you can answer a question about this item. The box you have pictured here looks nothing like the one in Hardy's excellent book The Complete Line of the Akro Agate (attached), what I have always considered the definitive reference on Akro. However the picture of the one in Hardy's book looks exactly like the one that was one Ebay. I collector friend has this same box and it looks just like the one in the book also. Why don't these pictures match? What makes you think the one you have pictured is not a fake? Or do you think the one in Hardy's book is a fake?
