Hello marble friends! Sorry for the poor pictures. These marbles are from my grandfather's collection that my husband gave to my sister right after we got them. It's still quite a blur, but I remember them being shooters. Well any way, they are coming home! : ) so I'll have better pictures sometime soon. I have some ideas but it's hard to tell from photos. (I know,right?? Haha) sis says they are 3/4 but I think closer to an inch. I can't wait to hold them. Thanks!

You can sorta see it in the first picture too... on the lower left.

Hmm...it was with the orange aides at first, and was there for a while, but it didn't quite fit...it also seems to have a cut line, that you can sorta see in the last picture between the orange and behind the seamy looking swirl. Ill try and find a better picture of what I see....

Happy marble day everyone! This Orange one is from my old collection. It sits with My swirls, but could it be a slag? It just seems different.

I'm thinking masters sunburnt on these two. One just has too many bright colors and the other so drab, until I photographed it, looks pretty on camera

I know, I know WV swirl....but this seems to have a lot going on in there. Some one must have an idea. : )

It was a different table/dealer/collector at the show that had the other one.  Which could be anything, it just really looked like mine.  Mr. Alley said mine was Alley, and my mom and I really liked him--he was very informative and willing to talk to us goofballs. We also won the door prize at the show: 20 assorted, SWEET, Akro Agate corks! 

Yes. : )  I didn't take a picture of the other one. It just looked like his brother,enough for me to stop and say hey.  And not much more was said after we compared them. But thanks for the confidence in the Alley Id. : )

Thanks. That's where I had it. I so want to find a ravenswood and learn more markers, but sometimes it seems so hopeless..lol. 

And this pretty swirl was thought to be Ravenswood because of the colors? Could that be true?

Hi friends! I took this pretty bugger to a show last week and it was identified Alley by Mr Alley himself. On the other side of the room I found one that looked remarkably similar. I said, "I have an Alley like that." But he said, "that's a CAC." I showed him mine and we noted the similarities. I know how iffy ids can be (and how iffy my pictures tend to be haha) but I still left quite confused, and of course didn't ask enough questions. Thanks!

The green and orange are 5/8 and the blue is 9/16. It's all so interesting. Cairo was thrown around also when I was showing some transparent swirls. I can see some similarities on identification pages. Some. 

No. These can from a group I picked up last week at a flea market. Not bad. Some neat vitros, a lot of peltier rainbo, some alley and champion swirls, many other wv swirls, masters tiger eyes and sunbursts, as well as those two frosted vacors. It was actually a decent batch for my first wild marble adventure. I really like these because they are so different. They look kinda vintage, yet they are modernist as well. They can be called: swirls deconstructed. Lol.

I've sort of showed these before. But I can't find much about them. They seem to somehow have similarities among themselves yet not much else. I'm baffled.

Yes. The last three pictures are under. It was windy out side so I think it was movement. But I liked how the swirls overlapped.

But it is so pretty....and interesting....I just had to share. And maybe, just maybe, some one has his brother.

Oxbloodish? This one is just different. I really like the arrow.

this is the one that looked similar to Ann's. Except theres no blue, but rather a yellowish/beigeish. I put more attempts at photographing it in the gallery.  The air bubble is cool as heck.  : )

Might your vaseline glass one actually be a cork?  Not a swirl? 

Could be an Akro Onyx cork maybe.  

That's possible. It's missing a chunk, but it seems corky. I just like the glow! Now I have to find the white ones that looked similar to the cairo thread. What I'm finding fun is matching marbles from the old collection with the new ones I bought. (I only had to buy them because I just wanted to look at more and NONE of the friends I was SURE had some stashed away had any) I wish I had the confidence to post pictures on the mostly pictures threads. But just when I think I know what I have....well you know....haha. I just need to look at and touch more!!!!
