Thanks for letting me join the forum! I look forward to reading the topics and threads here along with developing friendships with others who also collect marbles. I'm new to the forum but not new to marble collecting. I got started when I was a boy by my grandfather. He was a collector of many things, and he would take me to an Antique Shop in town while my grandmother tended to my great grandmother who was then in a nursing home. The marbles in the glass showcase caught my eye, and so each time we visited the Shop, my grandfather would buy two or three for me. Not only was the acquisition fun, he also told me about the different characteristics and makers of each one as we put them in an old leather zippered bag that he also bought for me. Now, nearly 30 years later, I just can't shake the habit.
