  1. This marbles base glass is not that of the boxed Akro Carnelian that you showed me. I'm just going to put this one in my unknown pile and hold onto it a bit longer. Thanks Again for your input. Beth
  2. Ron, I will keep Cairo open as an option. Thank you for the input. This was a backlit marble not black light but I will hit it with a black light to see if it glows.
  3. I don't have any order to these photos. Normally, I systematically rotate the marble but I think I failed to do that with this marble.
  4. I believe this is an Akro but is it carnelian or ace? Wispy reddish brown streaks with a very bubbly glass. Base glows yellow with backlight. Thanks Beth
  5. Thanks Steph, I hate the anemic oxblood name. It's either oxblood or not and this is not oxblood. I think of patches when I think of Moss Agates, which is probably why I didn't even consider it a Moss. I think I'm just going to put this in my Moss box. Thank You for your help. Beth
  6. Looks so much like an Ace with a corkscrew and missing glow from white. Doesn't look like a carnelian
  7. Steph, The glow is from the deep red transparent spiral. So it is not an ace. The white isn't wispy but cloudy. The orange color is just the red bleeding into the cloudy white. It almost feels as if the cloudy white follows the red spiral.
  8. Hi All, I know that this is an Akro Cork but is it an Ace? Lots of bubbles, red transparent corks with cloudy white. Hopefully, these pictures will come through. Thank You Beth
  9. Thanks for the info Steph. I used to be in the know but I have forgotten a lot of information on Akro and Vitro. I pulled all the marbles in my vitro box and am reevaluating them. For the life of me, I cannot recall why I put them in the vitro box. I'm not saying they don't belong, I just don't remember why.
  10. LOL. You brought up the Alan's site. I thought that it was being updated as new discoveries were found
  11. Steph, Thank You for answering. I visited the Alan's memorial site and saw that Popeyes were under Vitro label now. Now that Popeye is an Akro product, how do I: distinguish the Popeye patch from the Vitro patch. Do Vitros have string white with multi-colored patches? Are all Akro Popeye patches pre-freese? I probably have more questions, I'm just tired right now. Thanks Again Beth
  12. Hello Marble Community. Is it possible to get a visual tutorial distinguishing Akro patches vs. Vitro Popeye patches? Thanks for your help Beth
