  1. Yeah, I’ve always had a place in my heart for the rough and tumble. I really have a soft spot for provenance in collectibles. So a bonked up mib doesn’t seem to bother me a bit. If I die and have a few good ones for my daughter to sell then I guess that’ll be the cherry on top of all the fun I have hunting them down.
  2. Thanks Ann! I appreciate your insight. I definitely have my marbles I seem to have a preference for so likely I’ll fall toward them if I ever am able to afford the better condition ones. Every maker has gorgeous marbles though so for now I just take them all in 😂
  3. That’s a mighty perty marble you got there! I’m loving seeing everyone’s treasures. Can’t wait to get some more ID’s up. I have boxes of marbles Ive picked up over the last 5 years of my affliction. The more I learn the more I have to go back and poke around seeing if I’ve got any goodies 🧐
  4. That makes 100% sense, thanks. I just see some get names but had never seen something like this so thought I’d ask the experts
  5. Thanks everyone. I think they’re pretty cool. Very unique.
  6. Ooh yeah! That’s a beaut’. Thanks for sharing. Fred will be happy to know he has a close relative out there somewhere.
  7. I was imagining that would be true. It just looked exactly like one I saw online and it got me wondering. I love it regardless of its pedigree. Just like to value them so I can justify all the money I spend on them.
  8. These two little morsels measure in at .63 and .60. The larger I’ve always pretended could be a Cairo Green Lightning. The other is a similar marble but I just don’t think it’s quite there. Is there anyone that knows the secret to IDing them? The larger one gets lighter with black light but doesn’t outright glow. I also need to figure out a better way to backlight them. There’s way more swirlys in the bigger one that I could capture. I should also say that the larger one is a little bit on the oval-ish side. Also has two small opaque white flecks in it.
  9. Thanks so much Chad! I had poked around on here a several years ago when I first started collecting *hoarding*. Trying to really get a better handle on all this ID biz so I can know what I have. I’m super excited to have the experts weigh in on some of the ones that have me stumped, aka half my collection.
  10. Thanks! Maybe there’s hope for me yet
  11. Really? Well I’ll just keep ‘em comin then. Maybe one of these days this ID business will permeate the rock inside my skull.
  12. Awesome, thanks so much. I figured it was a rainbo but it’s a unique one in my collection so was wondering if it maybe had a name. If not, maybe I’ll just call it Fred.
  13. I keep going toward Peltier on this one but I just have no clue honestly. Im starting to think I just don’t have a brain for the ID part of collecting. Maybe just resort back to being an “ooh, that one’s cool” collector 🫤
  14. Thanks! I was thinking that because of the brush strokes but the middle cat eye just threw me off.
  15. I’ll head that direction in my hunt. Thanks! the glass just felt different then Vacor, lol, if that makes sense.
  16. Yet another marble I’ve never seen the likes of. These buggers were hard to get a good photo of. Transparent (tiny bubbles base). Opaque white brush over almost entire outside and then this curious little cat eye business in the middle. Some are just orange and some are red and orange and vary in thickness. The oddballness said Vacor to me but I couldn’t find an ID to corroborate?? So I turn to the experts (the last picture is another one in the little group I have)
  17. Me again 🙄 I’m pretty sure this is a Pelt, but does it have a name? I’m just in love with whatever’s going on with that blue. Sorry for the lamp reflection. Please forgive my naivety…I’ve got way more marbles than I do marble knowledge 🤦🏼‍♀️
  18. Hi there, I’ve been poking around the site in hopes of expanding my marble knowledge. Have a handful that I have some questions about. This one measures approximately .63 Ive never seen one similar. Any ideas? Also any pointers how to showcase them better appreciated.
  19. Thanks so much. I’ll get to posting This site is such a great resource! I had poked around a few years ago when I was bit by the marble collecting bug. Now trying to hopefully get a little more educated about all my pretties.
  20. I’m hoping for some help with marble ID. Is it better to post multiple marbles for ID on the same post or do each one as a separate post? They would be photographed individually, not as a group shot. I’ve been an “ooh, that one’s cool looking” collector for a while and am now trying to get more serious about ID’ing.
