Oops, small ones are .635, not .935

The big one is almost 1" (.995) diameter, the small ones are .935. Any ideas? Thanks, Denise

This one is obviously damaged, but I'd like to, as Ron says... learn from it, then give it to a kid, if he'll take it, lol. It's .98 diameter. Thanks, Denise

Measures 1.330 (ish). I was told by my husband's brother (the same guy that removed all ID info from dad's vintage marbles & mixed them in with his own newer ones) that it's a Bennington & that the ugly round spots are normal (not damage). Which, from my limited research, sounds right to me, but wanted to double check it here. Is it also normal for them to be so out of round? Denise

Both are 5/8" diameter. I don't think it shows in the photos, but the left one has a kind of translucent green base. I haven't yet figured out how to get a decent photo to show that. Lots of what look like air bubbles in both. The rest of the colors appear to be mostly on the surface. Thanks a bunch! Denise

So, stupid question #1 (sorry, newbie here, 🙃 just want to be sure I've got it) "West Virginia Swirl" is basically just a generic term for a marble that was made by one of several companies located in West Virginia, correct? And, Alley is one of those companies.

Here's another group I am curious about. Top is almost 1" dia (.985), middle, left is about 3/4", middle, right & bottom, center are both right around .680", bottom, left is more like .700" & bottom, right is about 5/8". Too bad they are all chewed up. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help. Denise

So here's another group. The top two measure about 5/8" dia., the bottom, right & middle are slightly larger & the bottom, right is slightly smaller than 5/8". Again, any help with ID or age will be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, this is my first post here on the ID board. Not sure how my photos will look once posted, but I will redo them if need be. These are from my husband's father's collection. We are hoping to re-ID what we can & I have more to post, as well. They all measure about 5/8" dia., except the one on the top, left is slightly larger. Any help with ID or ballpark age will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Denise & I'm new to the site & totally new to marbles. A few years ago, my husband inherited a small collection of marbles from his father. Unfortunately, they came by way of his brother, who removed them from their individual (identified) bags & put them in a metal tin along with his own marbles, which is how we received them. I'd like to re-identify some of them, if possible & thought I might be able to get some help here. I've spent some time researching marbles on the internet & even bought a book, but it's all too obvious that getting to know marbles is less book learning & more experience. I don't think there's anything very valuable in the collection, but I do think there might be some older pieces. I've read your photo tips & am working on getting some decent photos to post in the Marble ID forum. See you there!
