I bought a jar of old marbles… I’m not sure about them, as I know very little about marbles. I tried to pick out some of what I thought were the more unusual ones and took a lot of pictures. Any help with ID would be greatly appreciated. I also want to learn which ones I should keep vs giving to my nieces to play with. Thank you in advance for the help!

29.Vitro Hybrid Cats Eye/ or Vitro Cat's-eye
30. Vitro Horseshoe style cat's-eye
31. Vitro cats eye
Thank you again!

Greetings! You've got quite the variety of marbles there. This forum is wonderful for helping with IDs. It will make it a lot easier all around if you post small groups of 2 - 4. You'll get more responses. You're doing great with pics and numbering them!
Thank you so much I will defiantly take your advice and repost in small groups of 2-4!

As you said it is personal preference, since marbles are or can be subjective
Any company brand could be extraordinary to collect in my opinion, since all the companies have produced particular or limited marbles, therefore difficult to find.
However, there are marbles of more valuable companies than others, some reasons may be linked to the quality of the same or to have operated for a short time etc.
"Christensen Agate" is the boss, it is a bit like the "Rolex" of watches as I see it, but there are several prestigious brands, such as....MF Christensen, known for its slag, Navarre, also for its slag, Peltier, Akro, Ravenswood and so on
Collect what you like, every company has its own "Ferrari"
I expected them all to be just mediocre nothing good. I’m surprised as some that I posted out of the jar are from those companies you mentioned. It’s good to know and keep an eye out for. Thanks again.

Hey everyone thanks again for all the marble info….. I really appreciated all the responses. Since I’m new to this I have a question about what 3 types of marbles should I collect to have an amazing collection? Is it a brand or a specific type? I understand the personal preference in liking what you like, but what is the rarest?

Okay so spent some time today going through the mayonnaise jar of marbles. Here is what they look like sorted.
I went through and tried to pick ones I thought might be interesting. Please note I know nothing about marbles and am trying to learn. So maybe I didn’t pick the best ones out. If you see one in the bunch I should have picked but didn’t feel free to let me know. Hopefully through my learning these photos can help others. At least that’s what I’m saying because it was a lot of work! Lol So here I go….. Any help with ID-ing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to those who have helped me so far! I compiled everything here to hopeful make it easier. Please note the pictures are a compilation of one marble at different angles to help with ID-ing. I have tried to put info with each marble picture, Please correct me if I’m wrong. Some are still Unknown….. Thank you!

I broke your original thread into three parts.Trying to put them all into one thread gets very complicated very quickly. More people are likely to feel comfortable helping out if you have shorter threads.
Let's have Mayonnaise Jar, part 4 and part 5 and part 6 and so on.
As I mentioned above, about six marbles per thread would be manageable. Just something we've learned from years of trying to help with ID's. Thanks.@StephYou can delete the first two threads and I can breakup the combined version Mayonnaise jar of marbles if that’s easier?

I’m not sure how to delete this thread I have compiled everything into a new one and labeled the photos… Mayonnaise Jar of marbles ID

I went back and numbered each of the photos to make it easier for everyone. Once I figure out all the types I’ll add the info to the photos for everyone. Thank you for taking the time….

@Steph Here are more angles of the one you thought might be a Japanese transitional… Thanks for the help!

@StephI’ll post some more pictures later today of the marble in hopes it makes it easier to identify. Would knowing the size help in anyway? I notice alot of people putting the sizes of the marbles in their entry. Thank you again.
