I used to set an alarm for sniping—LOL.
Set a price based on knowledge, not want-ability and stick to it.
I was always one to beat at an in-person auction, if I wanted something, I kept the card raised and pulled it down when I reached my limit. The faster the auction—the better imho—on to the next!! No tricks, just honest bidding, there is always a bigger fish with bigger pockets—RIP—lol.
Common sense, not big cash, is the way to win.
Always have a limit and always know what you are bidding on.
Research, Research, Research, never throw good money at a common collectable that you may find next year for $5.
Nuff said!
Marble—On!!
Now that's some good, solid advice. I thank you for it.

I'm only a few marbles away from being in the poor house myself. 😂 It's a very addicting hobby and you can truly go overboard which I have. I really need to learn how to pace myself.
I think I need therapy. Is there a marble 12-Step?

I'm trying soooo hard not to buy up everything in sight. I'll put myself right in the poor house. I did purchase a nice display cabinet which should be arriving next week. Can wait to watch it fill up w/ keepers. I'm hoping to never have to sell my mibs again.

Ha. I was kidding. By all means, bid on what you want. I'm totally ruthless on eBay. Just call me the marble sniper. lol
I totally feel you. I like the cut of your jib!

So it was you that outbid me on that sparkler last night.....hmmm....😂
I just bought 3, but not last night. That's why I'm so torn on buying off e-bay. I hate to take from others, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. :0)

Does this count as another post I can mark off towards my 100? LOL

Well okee-doke! I guess I'll have to keep on trying to outbid others on ebay, which I have mixed emotions about. But the rules are the rules! Thanks so much!

I've got some money burning a whole in my pocket but I don't see where folks are selling on this forum. Is there an area I'm not seeing or do we just pop up and ask about certain wish lists?
Thanks for the help!

Oh, but they sent a picture of the box on my doorstep to me. It's killing me. But only 30 minutes to go!

I used to think that stairmaster minutes were the longest units of time. Now I know it's the hours you have still left at work until you can go home where you have marble mail waiting for you. I. Can't. Wait.

I've been using a Sony DSC-T200 for many years and I know others who like them too. They are not made anymore but you might be able to find one on EBay cheap and you can still find batteries too, at least the last time I checked.
I just bought one off ebay. Thanks for the info. Hope to be posting pics soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm wondering if I should invest in a digital camera to get the best pics as the one on my phone ain't cutting it. Do you have a recommendation on a decent, affordable option?

Greetings,
I've been out of the collecting world for several years and am just now dipping my toes back in the pool. I feel like I've forgotten more than I remember, but I'm so happy to start learning again. Kind of like dumping your mibs out and doing a complete re-sort to enjoy them all over again. I have a special affinity for Vitro. I find Vitro glass irresistible. I'm always on the lookout for Vitro killers. I also love MK, Jabo and, well, just about everything else. I'm just looking to rebuild my collection and plan on keeping them for a long time. I love pee wees too. I can't get enough of them. Little babies.
Hope to learn lots from you folks. I know I will. I'll post a profile pic of something purty once I get my pic settings dialed in.

Here's me! My name is Kimber and I love collecting vintage American machine mades of all makers. But I also love some of the newer mibs as well. Jabo and some of the others from outside the US. If I like it, I get it. I just love marbles and have a particular passion for Vitro. I'm happy to be here and learn from all the experts here!
