  4. Marble 1 – Dichroic Beauty

This striking piece blends deep purple glass with clear mountain glass, creating a rich depth that shifts in the light. A layer of shimmering dichroic glass catches every angle, bursting with hidden colors as you turn it in your hand—like holding a galaxy in miniature.

Marble 2 – Gold & Silver Fumed Treasure

Crafted with the same purple and clear mountain glass base, this marble is kissed with both gold and silver fumes, giving it an ethereal glow. Under sunlight, it radiates warm golden tones and cool silvery highlights, making it a timeless treasure to discover.

Salem Marble Hunt – September 14th

Special thanks to Mountain Glass in Eugene for their generous donation toward this project.

This featured purple marble showcases CBS heat-treated dichroic glass, creating a stunning vortex swirl. The second design is gold- and silver-fumed, with hobnob accents carefully hand-shaped and mounted.

Two of these marbles—along with other unique, handmade glass pieces—will be placed in designated public locations throughout Salem. These will include participating downtown stores and notable landmarks, such as areas near the Oregon State Capitol.

Marble collectors and treasure hunters, mark your calendars and get ready—these one-of-a-kind creations will only be available through the Salem Marble Hunt!

  5. Hi everyone, I’m launching The Global Marble Hunt, a long-term adventure where I hide handmade marbles in public places for others to find. I’m currently working in the state of Oregon and kicking things off with a marble hunt in Salem. From there, the plan is to take these hunts across the U.S., and eventually around the world. Some will be quick “stash and dash” drops, others will be larger organized hunts — but all will be documented here. If you like the idea of searching for marbles out in the wild — or hiding a few for someone else to discover — I hope you’ll follow along. Here’s to the thrill of the hunt and the joy of the find. — Marco / The Global Marble Hunt Team
