The base is actually clear its the background making it appear darker. I was told its a peltier green jelly

I was studying some marbles on this page and ran across this example of a champion marble. 

I feel like its Japanese from the detail within the glass work

I was thinking probably Alley or Ravenswood size is around 19/32"
