Hiya, I bought this based on photos online, thinking it resembled a single gather/transitional. Upon arrival I've not been able to find a pontil scar/facetted pontil etc.
But it's certainly an interesting one.
There's a small area that looks like it could have been a ground pontil, now worn down a bit, but I'm not convincing myself yet. It's where all the white come to an end n the 2nd photo.
It's got a weird "tail" that appears as a blob of glass in a small indent, that then runs and drizzles off.
No real ideas on what that could be.
What I do know: It's got that faint Manganese glass glow under 265nm, like Greiners I have. The glass "feels" old - I know, I know. but it feels a lot like my german handmades and my greiners. Not like any of my modern machine/handmades.
There's a few spots of "debris" in the glass, also a lot like my Greiners. and a few small "pop" marks.
Someone suggested it could be a newer "lamp/torch" marble.
It honestly doesn't look machine made, but again I could be wrong. And it may be a transitional, where the "blob" is hiding a crease?
Whatever it is, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, and it's quite lovely.

Thanks!
