  1. Hey Rick, I was just thinking about that deal the other day. So Your Welcome....AGAIN!!! I was really glad I still had the marble. It was a fav. of mine, so it was not going anywhere. As soon as I heard the story, I knew I had to set it right.....for Mom!! Marble On Rick!! Mike
  2. That is great info. I would like to take it a bit further. As you can see the AA red is kind of a washed out brick red and the white base crease pontle has a brighter red. I have seen transparent red as well as opaque red. Both are brighter then the AA red. The white base creased pontle has the same construction as the transparent base slag type crease pontle. Sorry no pics. These have been found in boxes from japan. They have colored transparent bases with white swirled on the surface making a loose 9 and wrapping around the equator of the marble a couple times to terminate in a puckered straight seam ( pinched pontle ) They come in blue, aqua, amber, green and peach for sure. I can't remember if there are clear or red. The construction of the pattern is the same as the opaque red and white and the pontle looks the same also. Based on the above, it is fair to say the opaque red and white pinch or crease pontle are newer Japanese, made at the same factory where the transparent slag type were made.
  3. Did you say eye candy? Well....here is a self portrait with my hand made dumb bells. LOL!! here is a Joseph's coat....about 1" But this is probably my fav. Spots of bright color stretched on a solid white core. Just under 1" and minty mint! I call it a clown onion skin. I think that is correct.

    CATS?

I won the pretty ones in the above post! Thanks for showing them off for me liz! I think I got beat out for that orange single pontle and another look alike of the white one with all the colors Ah well, that's ebay.... Those were very interesting handmades the guy had up, and I am glad I got some of them. I have a large....very large german sparkler with a giant vane or core of aventurine in it. I think it is over 1 1/8. It does have the orange peel surface. I am getting a new camera today ( I hope it comes in )!!! And I will be able to finally get some pics and post them. This one I have is does not have any color on the outside of the marble, and it it not a real wide ribbon on the inside. It looks almost like a bannana cat that got a little carried away in the center, kinda swells out with other colors, but doesn't get really wide or out of control. Pics will help and this may be a good first subject for the new camera this afternoon!! I'll try to post them if I can manage to work the camera It is a Cannon S2 by the way. I hope is does what they say!!
