Very sorry to read about the loss of your father!

Really sorry to read this sad news!
Dave had great taste in machine made marbles and always enjoyed a good show and tell session:-)
As you said, “he will be deeply missed”

Great looking marbles Ant, I love the pastel colors!
edit.....
The images I am referring to above are in the thread titled: "Joker Three Run Completed" .... started by Bocci
I especially like the bluez, greenz, and lavender combinations.
I sure would like to get some examples with the colors I like. I have not been able to get to a show since Amana last year, looking forward to picking some up this June:-)

p.s. It's been a long time since I posted, what happened to my avatar??? ...
.......whoops .... never mind :-)

I guess my reply would be if you can't tell the difference you probably should buy something else.(its that simple) I also think this is a completely different matter as to what name should be used for what marble.
I agree :-) lol:-)
I took pictures of those boxes 12 or 13 years ago and again in 2002, both times at the Columbus show and the contents were the same. When they were sold about three years ago I took pics again and the contents were still the same. Even if they were back filled longer than 13 years ago I have no doubt in my mind that they are all guineas ..... in the boxes that is .LOL
Here's pics of an an 11/16" single seam amber guinea under a two flash set up and backlit with a single flash. I realize it's apples and oranges in terms of clear vs. amber ...... but not the colors of the spots in general:-)

I don't know how anyone could think that guinea on eBay is genuine, and I don't even have any guineas. It looks closer to a Vacor Atmosphere than a CAC Guinea.
I agree:-) ..... I feel the same about the striped opaque:-)

Thanks Lizzy:-)
I really like that burnt example myself:-) I’d like to find more like it to be able to make a row in a 25 count jobber box. I really do love the rainbo’s, like corkscrews there seem to be an endless variety of them, making the search that much more fun than it already is. Of course this is no secret ....lol:-)
Thanks Greg,
There are a lot of folks out there taking great images of marbles!! What’s really great about it from a “setup” perspective is there are also many different means of achieving the same end. My system borders the absurd in terms of how simplistic of a “setup” I use. Over the years there have been many threads on the various boards about marble photography. It’s fun to share the info, much more fun than trying to do it for mucho deniro ....lol:-) But hey, I appreciate what you are saying:-)!! It’s kind of like the images, sharing them is fun, more so than selling them...I mean the marbles, not the pics!!!!!
Thanks again,
BT
Here’s sweet litte gem. I just got this one about a week ago from a board member who allowed me to adopt it.... Thanks:-)
Thanks for looking!

Not sure if this is a Peltier.... I posted it here a while back and there were as many opinions as there were guesses!!
What a great hobby! The more I learn about marbles, the more I learn, that I need to learn more about marbles....loloolol:-)
A fun way to store and display marbles:-)
This eample appears black to the eye but when back-lit....
A big boy .... one inch...
This is not mine... when I took the pics it belonged to Les. I am pretty sure he sold it...
Thanks for looking!!!
