  1. You can filter out the Jabo in your search. Here is an example of a search of mine:

marbles -radioactive -uranium -knife -figurine -ax -ladybug -figurines -turtles -mosaic -pokeman

Typically, I search all categories and then I will select individual categories (i.e. Antiques/collectibles/etc). However, you can search within the category first, of course. The categories are retained when you save.

Some of my best e-bay buys have been marbles in odd categories. Of course, there are sellers which put them in odd categories on purpose (IMHO). Of course, I still see a lot of listing which I just as soon not.

Let me know if you have any questions about refining your search even more.

  2. Greetings all!

I haven't been here in ages...

I didn't see the first listing....only the one that credited Marble Connection. I ended up buying them from srestep09 (delivered very quickly and packed very well). At any rate the marbles are great! There are 7 popeyes, 2 oxblood patches, 2 Aces, along with the others. All most all of them are mint with only a couple with small fleabites and minor surface abrasions.

Is it only a Superman if it is a corkscrew? The 7/8 with Superman colors is a patch. The redish ones confuse me...I don't know what they are and I don't think I've ever seen any like them before.

Zaboo, I really am not interested in the pouch and I'd be happy to give it to you :P Actually, at least everyone can be assured that this counterfeit box/bag will never surface on the market again (unless Zaboo turns around and resells the pouch).

However, the most valuable part of the auction was it reminded me how I'd been negligent in allowing myself the luxury of stopping in here and seeing all of you and your wonderful marbles!!

  3. Hi Suzie! Sure wish we could find a hotel in Phoenix that marble collectors and dealers could afford to stay in. Bo's shows were really great until the hotels decided to up the room rent beyond a reasonable amount. We are thinking about coming in February for the Tucson bead show. A lot of the boro marble artists come to that. We didn't go last year but I'd like to go in 2009 if the gasoline prices don't go as crazy as the motels.

Hey! You know finding and negotiating some decent rates is something I can try to do (I'm not as ambitious as Bo...pulling a show together seems overwhelming) but I really like the idea of finding us some affordable options. Many years ago, I worked in the Hotel Business. I was even a Sales Manager at a hotel for a short while....can't hurt to try!!! I'm glad you said that!!!

  4. Hiya Edna!! Long time no see....

Great post. I have really been drooling over some of the Jabos I've seen selling on e-bay of late. I loved the pictures. Sure makes me wish I lived closer to my Dad and we could hang out more...He'd love to get much more into the marble making end of things and so would I!

    I love marbles!!!!

Great to see you...I won't be disappearing again soon!!

  5. Road Dog and Kevin.....

I appreciate the input. I, too, felt it was pyrite. I did a Google Image search on Lapis and I'm sold. I added a picture of an egg that seems to be a cousin (but a tad heavier on the pyrite). I think I might have to buy that damn egg to keep my sphere company.

Once again, thanks!! This has been fun.

  6. Greetings!!!

I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth...and here I are!

I've posted pics of this marble before but couldn't resist reposting because it certainly has metalic something in it....It is not very photogenic as I can't ever seem to get pics that seem to do it justice.

    Thanks!!!!

  7. Well....I actually posted pictures of 3 different marbles that I think are purple slags. My naming convention leaves a bit to be desired since I named them Purple, PurpulePelt (sic), and PurpleSlag.

I think they all three are really purple. The colors in the pictures are depicted pretty much as they are. If you go to the web site links there are multiple pictures of each marble.

I love this thread. I think slags are so cool.

    Thanks,

    Suzie
