  1. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL cullet!!!!!!
  2. Yup, I think it's Fenton - does is shine green under UV?
  3. You guys are SO nice - thanks! Such a wonderful thing when everyone cares! You make me feel good - thanks! I have to admit I was scared - 5 new stints to add to the one I already had. 2 days of operations going in through my right arm the first day then through the groin the second day. Was told later, 99%, 98%, 97%, 95% and ()% calcium blockages in the 5 different places they placed the stints - lucky to be here I guess. Maybe I'll set the radar off at airports now...lol Thanks again Rich
  4. ok everyone, I am out of the hospital now with 5 newly placed stints in the old ticker - makes 6 totally. I'll get to the pictures when I get more strength back. I can't believe how tired I am...lol.
  5. I am going to find my 4 colors ones and take pix of them for you Marlene - give me a few days. Thanks!
  6. Thanks - I have 100 more 3 or 4 colored coming in the mail - story is the person bought a barn where a man invented a golf ball picker-upper and wanted to invent a marble picker-upper and bought 2,000 of the hybrid cat's-eye marbles - I bought 100 of them - woo, woo!!!!! Right now, they are in the mail.
  7. I am always being told that I need to get marble books and read them. As a general rule, they are helpful but only on a general basis. They fail when one searches for exact specifics - not the book's fault because if the book actually did include everything, it'd be to heavy to pick up!
  8. One of the reasons it is fun to discuss stuff like this is the knowledge base we have here - wow!
  9. Hummmm, I checked the book American Machine Made Marbles (page 162). It was caged cat's-eyes that were made in 1954 not the hybrid types...... maybe I read it wrong...lol
  10. Yep - Vitro and none of them are foreign! I am guessing around the early 1970's when the made hybrid cat's-eye marbles in Parkersburg, WV (they were there 1954-1989).
  11. Al - do you remember me asking you about cat's-eye marbles at my show during room trading 3 years ago? It was you who got me kick-started collecting them! It's YOUR fault...lol!!!!!
  12. So.... after 4 1/2 years of collecting cat's-eye marbles, I finally got to separate them into categories. Here goes - let me know what you think of them please. Rich
  13. My show in California has 43 6' tables - 65% selling vintage, 34% contemporary and 1% marble jewelry. It is impossible to go to all the vintage tables in a 6 hour period of time during the show with all the people that attend from the general public AND sell your own marbles at your table. Last year we has a heavy rain downpour but still had 350 to 400 people foot traffic at the Saturday show. I hold room trading Wed, Thru and Fri nights before the show so the vendors have a chance to take quality time to check-out and talk about the marbles they want to buy/trade. This is why room trading happens here at my show. Last year my wife HAD to go to the Grandkid's birthday party so I was all alone to run my table!!! I do plan on back-up though - I have overlapping assignments of friends of mine that no vendor knows who it is that walk the show like the general public watching for any funny stuff that might go on. You can't imagine the amount of work it takes to hold a quality marble show - it's a year long process. When Mike Close ran it for the first 3 years, I just paid the table fees and sold but now for the past 3 years, I can appreciate all his HARD work he did by himself too. 2013 will mark the 7th annual show - March 16th, 2013 - come by if you can! Fullerton California
