How often do you see these for sale at marble shows?

By this definition alone, the appearance of a R&T for sale is a "rare" event. This is an uncommon marble.

Definition 2a: marked by unusual quality, merit, or appeal :distinctive

b :superlative or extreme of its kind

Very few of the Road & Tunnels were made with enough "roundness" that Chris thought they were sellable.  So, a "round" R&T unto itself is rare.

Not all sold R&T marbles have such a well defined road and tunnel graphic.

This exact marble is of unusual roundness, distinctive pattern with an eye appealing color combination. This is a distictive marble.

The suggestion that Chris can fire-up the torch and crank out as many as you want, is a false premise to invalidate the usage of "rare".

My statement is in the present tense. Even if Chris fires-up the torch and cranks out as many as you want, my statement holds true as when written.

In the universe of marbles (data set), what percentage do you think existing Chris Robinson Road & Tunnel marbles total?

Chris did not keep detailed records. After talking with him, there are probably fewer than 100 in circulation.

If Chris did resume production, what number would he need to produce for his R&T Marbles not to be "rare"?

Using better logic, please articulate why you think it is not "rare"?

definitely contemporary. look like unsigned Gibson marbles from the 80s. actually these type Gibson marbles sold for bigger money back in the day. Brownie {Robert Brown} used to sell them allover ohio and west Virginia. they made way to collections as Vintage marbles. maybe the first reproduction antique marbles? some of the oldtimers know the complete story.......just a piece of history fyi

I knew sonny pretty well, he was like family in west Virginia. I spent time hangin with him. hate to hear of his passing. my deepest sympathy to john and family, boyd and family. sonny will be missed, its a sad day ;0(   scottpatrick

It's that time of year again!

Join us for the BMCC August Show in Canton, OH! In-room trading and selling is Wednesday – Friday. The show will be held Saturday the 27th from 10am – 3pm. The location of the hotel is close to the Canton airport, with shuttles available from the Holiday Inn. There's also plenty of great restaurants close! The deadline for room reservations with the club rate is August 1st, ($111.00) so please get those in before that date. Public admission is FREE, the public is welcome to in-room trading. its sad news indeed to say ronny cox had died. ronny was an innovator in the marble world. brian, I think your right. this looks like something mark capel would make. it also looks like a house piece of glass. they made a lot of ashtray inserts for stands, glass gear shift knobs, and lamps. most say they are akro but I say houze. (whooozch)

I am in the worst shape of my life. it breaks my heart that I will probably not make any more marbles. if I have hurt anyones feelings and im sure I have, I do apologize and hope my apology is enough. im sorry to have heard of clydes passing. I talked to him last year a few times and plenty of chatroom and email. my condolences to his family.................scott
