  1. Most excellent examples Scott.

I believe I have your eight-sectioned China's poor cousin. Must not have had the $$$ to get the glazed finish.

1", faded, and can't really be appreciated without having it in-hand.

    thanks.

    ps: who's Hansel?

  2. Dan: I agree. It IS interesting. what is it? :-)

Although I've had it about 15 years, I do believe it's a newer marble. Don't know who or where though, maybe European(?)

Here's an old one. 1". Transparent amber base and inside it has stands of opaque white and strands of lutz. Hard to get a good pic, hope you can see some of the lutz.

    thanks.

  3. Transparent colored or clear glass with opaque white swirls or ribbons.

Although it is tough to positively ID every slag/onyx marble, here are a few things to look for. However, since we have learned different companies can share the same characteristics, none of this is "cut in stone".

Peltier: swirls of thinner white glass, also known as "feathering".

CAC: one or two seams and the colored glass seems to be a little brighter.

Akro: no real defining characteristics, but if it doesn't fit into any other category, then it is likely.

MFC: the "9", tail, and the cut line. But no red ones.

    Hope this helps.

    thanks.
