Mystery solved?š¤š
-
This marble was found at the Cambridge dump site by Carlin Carpenter a close friend of mine and Ralph Watkins.
-
I would welcome anyone to prove otherwise if they can
-
We believe This is not automated machine made marble
-
Notice the fold on the North Pole. He tried the save it by lengthening the flap hopefully it would flatten the nub?
-
He may have had a set up like this? Just speculationā¦. He had a cane that slowly moved forward to the machine and he could heat it up to a semi pliable state and cut it. We donāt no for sure but itās an plausible idea.
-
Eddy Seese and I came to the conclusion that the nubs on the poles is a hard center that didnāt get hot enough to liquify because of it being 3/4ā size ā¦.! And cooled too fast to be totally rounded in the machine. And the cut line is not typical for a sheer mechanism on fully automatic marble machines. And the other end on bottom is broken off from the cane and was not melted. So itās not a blob of glass to start. šand Eddy made a cane and cut marbles from it with cut lines similar to Guineas. I will send pictures of his work soon showing this.

Iām in and looking forward to resolving the mystery š
-
I sure hope someone figures how Guineas were made š¤šEddy Seese and I were only speculating and Eddy did make a frit cane and did cut one and two seam marbles from the cane and Fiedler was a German marble maker and he figured out how to round it with the Christiansen machine according to his grandson Robert VaDine sr. Who said to friends and family members that he would go after school to the Cambridge glass factory and watch him make the Guineas on a small hand crank machine and that he was the only one that could make the Guineas And Fiedlers granddaughter Betty Bender formally Betty Fiedler of Chadsford Pa. who I personally spoke to and she confirmed the story of her cousin ā¦so letās marble on !!!and solve this mystery once and for all us mibbsters š

Thatās been my personal experience with Him for 48yrs!!!
