I will for sure post pics and try the hot glue. Thank you. I think I may even look for an old glass top table. Maybe its me but I think the whole jar or gumball machine thing just shows that you have them. Not the beauty of them if that makes sense. I feel they should be seen and shared with everyone and I have way to many to try to display them on little stands or boxes.

The window I am working with is a 3 pane window. I wanted to use vintage to go with the feel of the marbles. I mean I could probably get it to work if I want to take away from my vision and spend more money than I had thought.

I wanted a way to display my marbles so everyone could see what I see. I just love the design and detail to this tiny works of art. So I found an old farm house window and decided to redo it to make almost like a sun catch. Turns out it wasn’t working out the way I thought it would. The marbles are so irregular and the sizes are just so different. I tried 2 pieces of glass I tried wire fencing. The marbles are just to heavy. So I decided to glue them to the glass. I researched it and decided I wanted to know if it would ruin any or take away any value. So here I am struggling to learn and not wanting to destroy what could belong to my children someday. I will take a look and see if I can find a marble show. I don’t know that my marbles hold much value as far as $ but I personally have a crazy connection to them. Thank you guys so much for the advice and sharing of knowledge.

The more I read the more confused Im getting.. Turkey heads, 9's, diaper folds, poles, pontils melted not melted, pinched not pinched, hand gathered, moonies & flints. 🫤 I am just feeling frustrated I wanted to make a window but didnt want to glue anything of value or importantance. Am I the only one who has been this confused?

I got a metal detector for christmas YAY!! That was literally my whole reason behind cleaning up the garden. We have a lot of iron in the ground. The only problem is we have tons of clay so far down and its hard to dig. We will see its going to be a very fun summer! You walk anywhere in the woods around here and you can find remains of old buildings or old dumps.

I was keeping any that had a glow in our uranium room LMAO! We are so weird in this house. I collect marbles and cobalt glass he has fallen off the deep end over uranium anything but he has a special place in his heart for salt shakers.. I just love snooping around and finding stupid little things. Our 9 year old gets handed a black light any time we go anywhere. Great times and great memories.

I just have a few that I am really struggling with. I promise I will take a break for awhile after these. I rather enjoy going through all the old post and searching books and internet. When I find a challange its game on hyper fixation here I come! The first one I am really confused about so I took a lot of pictures. The second picture of the blue I am just wondering about the light patch. The last one is crystal clear to look at till the light on the camera hits its or you shine a light on it. All 3 are average size marbles. Any info would be great thank you..

I have spent a week in our garden raking and digging up blackberry bushes " I hate those thorny things!" Then after an over night rain I walked down to look at my job well done at voila' I see this little guy!

Thank you for the info… I have a feeling this one has some siblings in my beautiful marble mess.

I don’t have much knowledge on my marble collection. I mostly just know I like them and have collected well a little more than a few. I don’t know the size of this marble just that it’s big.

To respond to the first message.. I don’t have a favorite marble I absolutely love them all. I do however have a few that intrigue me more than others so thank you for pointing me in the right direction. So to respond to my fellow Pennsylvanian it is a blast until it drives everyone here crazy 😆 thank you both for the warm welcome.

I have been collecting marbles for a long time but only when i would find them out in the wild.. Crazy I could spot a marble from a block away in 6 feet of brush under a log in a swampy marsh.. Lol for real though its weird they just jump out at me. I never purchased them or spent much time on learning things about them until the last few years. So now I have this massive collection of antique and vintage marbles and no actual knowledge. I just know they are old and i want to leave them to my kids someday I would love to learn more about them. I recently redid an ould farm house window so i could give the marbles proper display. However its not turning out to be what I expected in order for it to work proper I think my only option is to glue them.. I dont want to damage them in any way so I have paused for a moment on how to proceed. Anyway this is me with my marbles and my lack of marble knowledge. I was doing the gumball and jar display thing. I do believe this pretty little things should be seen. I find it incredible that something so little can hold the beauty and talent that they do. Im excited to be apart of this community and hope to learn more about my marbles. I added a few pictures of some of what I have and until I can come up with something for my windoe I am now on a hunt for a glass top table that I can use.
