  1. I don’t know I’m still struggling with the lines and swirls. 🤷‍♀️ some look so similar but then they don’t. It’s maddening!
  2. The black shouldn’t be to hard some of these little townships still use paper ballots lol. I bet if I went poking around some of them I could find something!
  3. Thanks everyone I’m still trying to learn. Unfortunately it may take time as I discovered not a soul in central Pennsylvania to learn from. So for now it’s all internet and books.
  4. I can’t lie my heart rate increased when I found these… They were super hard to get pictures of. I tried many angles and different light. I zoomed in with my magnifying camera to try to get more detail. One is cracked from pole to pole twice. The other is beautifully perfect.
  5. These little buggers make my head hurt trying to identify them. LOL
  6. If so is that red on this some type of metallic oxblood?
  7. I was trying to add photos to my page. I can’t figure out how to do it. I THOUGHT oh maybe you have to add through gallery. That’s a hard NO I might add 😳 so I now have 500 pics in the gallery and some for the love I hadn’t cropped. (That was a whole different episode) 🙄 If I delete the whole gallery thing I have how do I add those to my own personal page? (I was an 80’s kid this tech stuff kills me at times)
  8. 1 Tostitos jar $, 1 sugar shaker $, 1 tiny jewelry box drawer $, 1 pickle jar $, spending my Tuesday playing with my weekend find….. PRICELESS!!!😂😊 it was a fun weekend.
  9. You are correct I cleaned it. 100% has damage I can feel it more now.
  10. Probably it looks chipped it doesn’t feel super bad though. I love glass I collect glass and this little marble feels like very good quality glass in reality I can only feel one actual chip. Maybe I will give it a good scrub it might just be dirty. I’m pretty sure that’s one I came across in the dirt.
  11. Haha I don’t know enough to call it anything really. I glad to finally be learning a little though.
  12. On this one you can clearly tell it hand made but I can’t see a top spot only a bottom. Maybe it was smoothed over better? Thank you for explaining that as well I literally feel kinda dumb about the marbles now. How I have been so infatuated with them for so long and I never really had the time to learn more about them. I’m a little embarrassed to be so clueless. This one has a much prettier green.
  13. I mean on the German one. I have one of those lattice looking ones and you can see the 2 spots. I have 2 of the green German ones the one I shared pictures of and a second one that looks to be in rougher shape but I only see one spot on it. I can share pictures with you. Maybe you be able to see what I can’t.
  14. No I saw it in the picture also it’s feels smooth. Like some of the marbles I have that have weird spots similar to this I can feel or catch with my finger nail. I don’t feel this one. To just look at it you can’t even see it.
  15. So I have a question the other one I have I really don’t think has mica. I can’t really tell but it appears to only have one pontil spot. Which I’m assuming would mean it’s the first from the rod? Does that make a difference?
  16. I appreciate all the information and kindness from everyone. I have always just been drawn to the old marbles. I just grab jars when I go to estate sales or antique stores. I haven’t participated in online sales or purchased expensive individual ones. I love finding them in the ground most. I have never paid a lot of attention until recently. This group is just one of the best I have found.
  17. It almost looks like glitter or chips but it’s perfectly smooth. I mean you can feel the uneven surface but it’s not a chipped surface if that makes sense.
  18. So I have 2 I always thought it was some kind of damage until I started reading more.
  19. It does glow super bright I could use that bugger light a night light.. more pics of the orange one. I have a few that are almost identical to it just different colors. Thank you for the info. I have been non stop trying to figure these out😂 people in this house are starting to get annoyed.
  20. The white line in the one you call chalky had me. So weird I can feel it. I had no clue thank you
  21. I love looking through all these pictures and conversations. I think I’m finally getting somewhere. 1st… Akro corkscrew? 2nd….. German handmade mica.. 3rd….. Master marble brushed patch? 4th….. corkscrew? Im not sure on the maker of this one yet. Then I have a couple I just don’t know.
