There are two books that I would suggest to you--they are not cheap-but pretty new.

"Alley Agate Company: marbles and pressed glass" and the latest book-"West Virginia Swirls".

These will help in your venture.

You are a searcher and I will leave the rest to you--just because I would want it this way too.

I was able to steal this book on eBay for 20.00 Canadian yesterday.

    Can't wait to get it

Yixing Jinzhu Glass Products is the maker. I agree that the bombers are modern because the company was found in 1998.

The English name for these marbles is “milky marbles 6,” but in Chinese, they’re called “milky 8-petal marbles". It’s strange, but they use different photos and names for the English and Chinese versions of their website. So it’s worth checking both versions of the site.

    Great info.  Thank you!

I think that one is Another Vacor Sunset. And that purple color you see in the base glass under UV is just a reflected visible light from the UV source. I don't see any significant fluorescence in the marble.  Lots of yellows will glow orange under UV, which doesn't usually mean anything significant to marble ID, although there are specific instances where it might be more useful.

Thanks.  I got lazy and didn't turn all the lights off.

    Thanks for the ID

I do think there are small spots of fluorescent material on these marbles, and those spots are actually fluorescing. Otherwise, I would expect the whole marble to look the same. Although, I suppose it is possible that there is just some highly reflective material on those particular spots too.

But imagine walking under a "blacklight" with a white shirt on. The shirt looks purple because of reflected light from the UV source - it does not fluoresce. I think this is what Alan is saying.

Any speculation what these might be?

If the light is blue or violet, it is a reflection.  In any case, UV reaction isn't an indicator of anything special.

I understand that., but what is reflecting here?

Without the light, there is absolutely no indication there is anything to reflect.

More curious what they are made if, it what they are

Thank you so much for your compliments! It really feels great to hear someone so appreciative of my efforts in photographing these marbles. I do invest a lot of time and energy into taking them.

Are you using a camera or phone?

I use my phone for convenience, but am thinking if getting the camera out for my online sales stuff

    You're pictures are very good!

    It is a Vacor Ric.
    A Wicked Owl imho.
I am trying to double check on it--The Vacor site has upgraded though--not to their advantage--- I think at least.
I will stick with "Wicked Owl".
@Melissa will straighten me out if I am wrong.
