I posted this already but didn't get a single response wh8ch has never happened on here ! Im going to try again. I have a ton of these swirl-ish marbles in reds, orange, green, blue and yellow. They are VERY similar but do has different details sometimes. Every time I image search i get something different. The reds always come back as oxblood or something akro swirl. Some of the swirls are on the surface but some have obvious depth. I also have some that are blue with an orange swirl or green with red. Is there no end to the marble wisdom abyss ? Im never going to figure this out !

I have hand fulls of each these in multiple colors. 1st question is .....are they the same kind of marble ? 2nd ? Why the difference in depth of the color? Some are clearly surface to where others very clearly have depth in the color ? And then some have a couple colors. Is that just from mixing with the white or is it intentional ?

Good morning my marble mentors ! I have so many questions but here are just 5 ! These are absolutely beautiful to me ! Anybody recognize them ? I am adding several photos because I have decided that marbles have at the very least 8 sides ! Is the one in the middle an oxblood ?

I cannot express how much i appreciate everybody's input on here! I have tried more than a couple other sites and only became more confused ! I've learned more since I signed up her than I have in the past year since I inherited the collection ! For this i thank you all !

It's a stamp from the IBIS paint app lol. I tried to dry arrows in my photos app but it looked like a preschoolers art project lol

It is endless ! I have been focusing on oxbloods lately because they were the most fascinating even before I learned that they were oxbloods. The problem is that the unique design of each style ensures no two are ever exactly the same ! With my minifigures it was a matter of learning every torso, every head, every legs, every hair style etc . But those are exactly the same ! Marbles NEVER ARE ! I think i should choose a less complicated marble type because oxblood variations are infinite ! -

Overboard is never a thing ! Lol does the dual lighting not create bright white spots in the pics ? It's reflections of things on the marble i think. Including light sources , my phone etc .... -
About 99% of my marbles are pre 1970 but my kids have gifted me a few modern ones. The ones with speckled of glow are the newer ones. But what a very cool discovery my son made that night because I had no idea this was even a thing ! I gave my cousin a couple of very cool oxbloods a while back and I now literally keep myself up at night wondering if they were plutonium ! Lol
