  1. I have an old Chesterfield Cigarette Poster that I believe is lithograph. It's not perfect but it can be repaired, I have had it for years and I am very curious as to it's value? Does anyone know, or have an idea of where to even begin my search? I have casually looked but have found mostly reproduction posters. The one I have is huge. Thanks in advance. Me
  2. Really really cool:) I'd love you watch you marble makers work!
  3. Love the photos...when I grow up I wanna take some like that. I have a couple that I've taken recently but they are too big to get on here and I have no clue how to re-size:) Keep sharing, ok?
  4. Thanks for the link, I am gonna check it out:)
  5. Wow! You guys have some nice ones...mine don't even compare:) honest. Thanks for sharing! I'll do my best to get some photo's of mine on here to share, now that I have a decent camera they might even look nice too:) It'll be a few days maybe closer to the weekend. Do you guys know the time periods and stuff? It was so cool to listen to that guy tell me about mine. If you ever get the opportunity to get to The Boonshoft Museum Of Discovery go. The person I spoke with was William E. Kennedy, M.A. R.P.A. Curator of Anthropology. He explained every one of mine, named each one and marked them with a time period, and put each one in envelopes for me, I spent the best few hours I've had in a long, long time. Feels good because it was one of the things I promised myself I'd do "some day" Here's a little of what I learned that I have: Thebes Point, Early Archaic 8000-6000 B.C. St. Charles Point Early Archaic 8000-6000 B.C. Bifurcate Base Point Middle Archaic 6000-4000 B.C. Ledbetter Stemmed Point Late Archaic 4000-1000 B.C. There are so many more, I just grabbed a few out of the box. I know I have a knife and a few scrappers and a few "preformed". It amazes me how much history is in there. Me
  6. Wow..oh wow, I was able to finally make it over to the Museum to have my Arrowheads looked at. I am so pleased, had a bunch of questions answered and so much new knowledge packed into my head it's hard to think. The guy who did mine was so very nice and sorted everyone of them, even put them in envelopes with the time periods and everything, too, too cool. I'd forgotten how very much I like them and how many memories I have connected to mine. I remember there used to be a few people here who collected Arrowheads...are you still here? Would love talk and share. Me
  7. So okay...I gotta go there new friend, your quote at the bottom of your page has been distracting me:) I'm weird that way. Had too look up the rest of it and share just in case anybody wanted the rest of it. It's a good one and a keeper for sure:) "All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, ...Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." — J.R.R. Tolkien (The Fellowship of the Ring)
  8. Pretty beat up I know but I've had him for years...any ideas?
  9. This was a hard one to photograph...let's see if I did it well enough to give this one a ID. All the action seems to be inside the marble and it's really cool to look at in a bright light. Me
  10. Alley, Alley and Akro it is then and I thank you very much! Feels good Zaboo, to finally be back and posting, especially with photos, kinda feels like I took a big girl pill:) It's been a long hard path these last years but I've been a frequent lurker off and on How have your been?
  11. kinda like it...I too would love to meet fellow marble gatherer's. Patty from Ohio here and welcome:)
  12. Last one for a while I promise, again, it's another mib rescued from the slingshots of my childhood:)
  13. This one I have had forever and I posted it years ago but as usual my photo's sucked and I grew frustrated, it's from my childhood. Any ideas?
  14. Wanna play some more? I really love the way you guys think:)
  15. Let's try this one...what do you think? Peltier?
  16. Aww shucks! I like it when you guys are nice:) Thanks for the compliments on my photos (don't make me turn red) cause I know ya'll are thinking IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! (huge grin) Not sure about the age but I have had it for well over 10 years, longer I think. It's a standard size marble. Yeah I know...got to get me one of those sizing things. I have been so curious about this one and I really like the way it looks. I have more photos...wanna play? Me
  17. Finally. I have gotten what I think is a decent photo of this marble:) I have honestly taken everyone's picture taking advice to heart and this is the result...still not sure about resizing but I am trying. Opinions please? Pretty please, with sugar (splenda?) Any idea who made it?
  18. /p.s looks more like the one you have in the middle row, blue one too.
  19. Looks very much like those only it has a reddish tint to the black not a purple one. At least to my eye but I do not have a mag light nor a black light. I gotta get me some of those:) I also found a blue and black one almost identical to the one in this thread. Still working on my photo taking skills, and I still suck, sigh....someday. Me
  20. Oh lord...I figured out the cropping but the resizing is over my head right now. If you can explain how to do it in a way that a 5 year old can understand I'd appreciate greatly:)
  21. Thanks y'all. I have so much to learn...those little guys seem to want to wiggle and giggle as I snap (try) their photo's. I think they are camera shy:) Please, keep posting any and all suggestions, I will listen and apply each suggestion, I promise. It can only get better from here:) So many marbles...so little time! Me
  22. Here's one of my recent dollar marbles:) I have impressed myself...lmao:) Akro right?
  23. Here is a photo of the marble I was asking about, hoping it gives a much better idea of what I am asking? Me
