Rooneydog
Hello everyone and thanks for looking. I actually collect coins and can usually be found over on coincommunity but grateful thanks to the internet (and the owners / mods) that sites like this exist to help. I have an old collection of marbles - I seem ok with the antique glass handmade types but I am struggling with the others. I think the last 2 pictures (same blue marbles) are M F Christensen Slags (confirmation would be good) and require guidance on the amber 4. There are others but I think I will start here and see where I go.
Steph
Hello. Welcome. The first set looks like West Virginia Swirls. Possibly made by Alley Agate Co. The blue ones are hand-gathered like MFC's. I'm thinking Japanese transitionals though.

Thanks Steph - I think a good call on the Japanese transitionals as now you have pointed it out they have creased pontils as for the others white based swirl two toned yellow ? Steph
All I feel really good saying about the first ones is "West Virginia Swirls". Yellow? I was seeing so many more shades than yellow, including brown and red. And Alleys have some nice shading action. So ??

Steph
No worries. Not oxblood. Oxblood is opaque. Here's a thread with many examples. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/20745-please-fill-this-thread-up-with-akro-oxbloods/?hl=oxblood
Rooneydog
Ok how about a three coloured West Virginian Swirl (not Ravenswood as there appears to be no tunneling). Now I know why I collect coins
Steph
Yes, I think the red was a separate color from the gold. I wouldn't argue about that color count.
